Both. But mainly the sheet metal area near the hood vent

Lol. I have a lot of parts to return to my dealer tomorrow. The intake TB and hose kit. And I just finished reinstalling the stock intake. Good news is I received my JLT coil covers and CAI

So there is no way unless there is a hole in the hood right?

Correct or a new style taller hood. But the new hood would have to have a raise from the vent area. Looking at our cars, the stock CAI is sealed tight to the hood. And the coolant tank cap is almost making contact with the hood banket because ford has a recess in the blanket to clear the cap. It's that thight. This sucks because I really think this intake would be a game changer. And I was hoping for 600 hp. I also do not want to lower the motor at this point because the headers are on the way here and that's just as important.

Thanks for all your efforts. Maybe one of the shops will test it out sometime down the road. I'm really curious about where it will add power, how much, and whether or not it will lose significant low end power.

I'm in the near future ford performance will offer a intake for the voodoo. Sooner then later I hope. I like naturally aspirated over psi.

Imo your hood gap is deceiving. The mani is closer to the fulcrum of the hood so any amount it is off will just exacerbate the gap in the front. 3/4 to inch drop just might do the trick. Plus you could trim the Inside of the hood like some boss mani owners have done. Or is there no excess on the 350 hood?

The gt 50 guys hood is higher on the front and the front bumper is also higher. Meaning the whole core support is higher up giving more hood clearance in the front area. They only clear the hood in the rear reinforcement area of the hood. The gt350 hood is clear in the rear but not the front near the hood vent. Our gt350 hoods and core supports are about 1-1/2" lower then a gt 5.0. Trust me. I'd love to have this intake on my car. But I'm not cutting a hole in the hood to make it fit. Also I'm not lowering the engine yet for a few reasons.
1) headers I have coming are long tubes and I'm not sure on the room yet.
2) we have a flat plane crank and I'm not using upr mounts because of the stiffer urethane. If I were to lower it I would make my own mount and keep the factory rubber insulator.

This...

Take two pens. Put them down on the table in a a T-shape one on top of the other. Move the bottom pen all the way to the back of the top pen. Notice how the gap between the table and the top pen gets bigger, and vise versa?

You also have to remember that a engine does not sit level in the car. The front of the engine sits higher. And the hood slopes down to the front. I'm not saying it can't be made to fit. But I'm not swapping hoods because a gt350 aftermarket hood isn't available yet and 2 I'm not cutting my hood to make it work.

Yea I wouldn't want to cut into my hood either. Well when you're r ready, definitely try dropping the engine first if there's no ill effects. Cuz hoods are expensive lol

I'm hoping that the headers, jlt, e85 and tune will get me a bit closer to 580hp at crank. Keeping fingers crossed.

Damn, popped in to see whats up and this development. Oh well, someone will make a hood at some point that will clear. On to cold air, tune and headers...
