I have gt350 mani now, so I'm turning higher RPMs than stock. I'll admit, I've missed 5th before. But now, if I'm anyway near 7500, I can't get into 5th gear, unless I wait a second. Well not a full second, but enough time to lose a car or two doing rolls in Mexico. I don't have issues with any other gears. 3rd used to be my Kryptonite, but I no longer have an issue since I changed my shifting style.

Mods are in my Sig and the SR lockout kit. I've tried the steeda bushing insert and hated it. Also improved shifting by 0%

Is this a safety thing? Is it possible that everything is too torqued over for it to go into that gear? Will a transmission mounted shifter fix this issue? Can it be fixed with a tune update?

I plan on changing the fluid soon. But if I can hold out on buying a shifter and get wider wheels and tires, I'd prefer to do that. But if the shifter is the cure, that's what I'll do.

Stock shifter bushing offers no support for stock shifter, especially at high rpm. Also things that help, replacing stock clutch line with steel or steel braided ( stock one gives inconsistent shifts when hot since its plastic and holes for the ends are restrictive), remove clutch assist spring or replace with steeda spring ( high rpm use clutch can stick or wear out prematurely), replace stock transmission and diff fluids, add firmer engine mounts or add transmission insert or both. If holding off on purchasing a new shifter just adding a shifter bushing and transmission bushing will help out a great deal.

I tried the transmission bushing insert and the extra vibrations were horrible.

I'll try the shifter bushing. Probably going to order the fluid kit from optimum performance this weekend.

How do you like UPR motor mounts? I want to avoid adding NVH as much as possible.

I think you should just get a MGW to go with the fluid change.

I'm leaning towards the Bartons well, the new flat stick design is growing on me, UPR street adj mounts are great, about a month to get them really settled in no vibes in the cab at a stop like others.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yea, the flat stick looks awesome.
