Guys I need a hand dealing with this. Who has conquered the awful rasp with a 3" exhaust. Upwards of 3000 RPMs it is embarrassing going WOT. I have the MBRP Street and stock exhaust up front with cats. With cats it sounds so bad. I can only imagine how it is without cats. I am looking into resonators has anyone had any luck with these?

One of the members here svtfever has been through a sh1t ton of exhaust combos trying to fix that exact problem, except with LT headers. He'd be the one to ask.

Easy fix. Pull the Coyote and install an old school pushrod 5.0.
Seriously, I think it's the nature of the beast. I'm old school (read:eek:ld fart) and I actually got hooked on the sound.

I have done the same thing on damn near every car or truck I have owned but if I could find a shortcut it sure would be a nice savings. I honestly think the Magnaflow cutback is what I should of bought. Thank you.

Lots of threads on this. Most people are not happy with the WOT sound of the street. I had the street on for about 6k miles and sold mine. That sound is terrible. I have a video that has that sound perfect.around 3k rpms and higher it is not for me. I'll post it later. Sell and buy something else.

So what exhaust did you get afterwards?

FWIW, I loved my S type and FRPP Boss midpipe setup on my '12. Deep with no rasp (which I define as the rattling tin can sound above 3000-3500RPM) at all. However, I don't think anything like this exists for 15+

I had the street version attached to my catless headers for about 5 minutes. It sounded like ass. I hate cackling, popping exhaust and that's exactly what it did. I put the stock catback on with my LTs. I love how it sounds now. Wish the tips were bigger but it sounds good to me!

This is the sound that people talk about.

I went with Borla s-type with a H pipe. I'll have to get a better video.

Not raspy at all at WOT with Magnaflow Street CB. But, if your looking for "wake the dead" tone, this isn't going to help.

I have had a couple Magnaflow exhaust in my life and I honestly do not know why I bought the MBRP. :headband: Magnflow here I come.

Take it the hopes of carbon build up didn't come through?

I deleted the resonator and the flex pipe with an H-pipe. Couldn't be happier. No rasp, just loud enough. Realistically not gaining anything with a cat back, the cost of one isn't justified.

If you want that old school sound I would recommend the Stainless Works chambered catback with H pipe, that thing sounds like the 70's. However you are going to encounter drone with the deep guttural noises. Just a matter of preference.

I heard the MBRP and thought they sounded terrible. I went with the Corsa Extremes and am extremely pleased. If you want a deep note at 3k + Corsa is not going to help you there. Think NASCAR exotic race tone.

Here's a clip of me braking, Im in an auto btw.
