My provider SIMPLISAFE provides (no charge) a new cellular module for the alarm base station to update the tech. It went LTE, not 5G, probably because it's cheaper and LTE isn't going away for a while yet.Received this notification for my '16 VW and home alarm system. <$300 solution for the VW but don't need it. 3G networks being shut down. Now I just need to find a new security solution for the house.
Not all. There are some 2020 Ford vehicles affected.Received a notice from Lincoln for my wife's 2017 MKZ that 3G was being turned off. Upgrade to a 4G dealer installed modem for <$300. 4G is installed in all 2018 and newer Fords and Lincolns.
