Those 500s were not able to finish their sessions?

I know a few were hitting fuel starve here at COTA at the end of 25 min sessions

The white one in the garage next to me said he had about 1-2 gallons remaining after a 30 minute session. It was his first time there so don't believe he was even going full out for the entire session. This is a known issue that others have reported elsewhere.

I don't recall how much I was using after each Daytona session, I should go and look at my old receipts. 10 gallons sounds about right. So an additional 4 or so gallons? 16 gallon tank? It will be tight.

They are two different cars. I prefer them both, each for their own reason.

I've heard that they need to have a little gas in the tank too - they can starve under acceleration.

I’ll be curious to see what this gets at Daytona. I have to imagine Daytona percentage of time at full throttle is higher than mid-oh. I wonder if @Tomster can break below 2 mpg

Great - you'll get 70 miles instead of 44. Somehow, I just don't see the GT500 evolving into the weapon of choice for endurance racing.

I would agree that 'faster' does not mean better, or even more enjoyable. Two different machines going about it it in similar, but different ways. Here is recent Daytona outing, which highlights the differences.

I could only take about 3 1/2 minutes of that video. I can’t imagine how frustrating that was for you.
