3.15 gear, what models have them?

Like the title says, want to swap from 3.55 to 3.15’s. I’m looking for the iron housing of course. I’ve seen mixed answers Just searching.

Most base cars would have them. If you want it more or less guaranteed, look for a manual V6. Most of them were ordered with no options so it's rare to find any with the 3.55s.

Auto cars without optional gears or performance pack. None are iron housings, if you're looking at full pumpkins. You'd have to swap the diff into an iron housing.

If looking at the V6, avoid the 051A. To get the 3.55s, 051A was mandatory.

This is the kind of stuff that gets confusing, why are you saying that complete iron housings are not available?? The most common statement seems to be along the lines of what Nagare said, just trying to narrow down. Does anyone know if you can buy them complete? New from ford?? They have 3.55 complete setups posted everywhere I look but no 3.15

Not with 3.15 gears, no.

You can buy the diff that accepts 3.15 gears from Ford, and you can fit that diff with those gears into an iron housing. If you want to buy a fully loaded pumpkin that loads straight into the car and already has 3.15 gears, it's going to be aluminum.

What about the iron housing in the manual cars with 3.15’s? Can’t you just change the flange? That’s what seems like other guys are doing

That doesn't exist from Ford. Manual cars only come with 3.31, 3.55 or 3.73.

Ah yes forgot about the V6 manual. EB and GT manual has 3.31 as lowest numerical ratio.

Either way you'll be looking for a while likely.

Ya i got LKQ local hookup, just wanted to get a better idea of exactly what I'm looking for, gonna call my guy monday and see whats up. Does anyone have a part number of the flange I'm gonna need? of do i just swap mine?

Better idea is to get on a 3.7 Facebook group (S550 V6 Mustangs) and offer to trade yours as a pumpkin swap, lots of guys would be happy to take your 3.55s and I'm sure there is a decent amount with manuals so they should have the iron housing and 3.15s.
