This exactly what ive ben thinking. If this is the last year of the predator engine and the last SC v8 GT500 I think GTFORMULA is correct about values jumping up the same way GT350 values did when the GT500 was announced to be auto only.
But the Predator engine will remain in production for the Raptor R….

It'll be interesting to see what, if any, changes are made to the emissions sytem on the Raptor version of the Predator. In addition, just how long will the engine be available in the Raptor, two years maybe?

I would guess at least a 2 year run. Maybe a bit longer depending on emission changes.
The sunk costs are already expended. Might as well crank-’em out.
Seems to me a 2023 GT500 is easy to do now that the S650 has been delayed to 2024 model. Might be a warehouse full of Predator/DCTs waiting for a chassis….

And when was the Romeo plant to close?

Raptor R will probably be available for the MY 23 and 24. Emission changes get even more stringent for MY 25.

I could see 2022 customer orders that landed within expected production numbers and that are delayed by material shortages being pushed into a 2023 MY, but no additional units being produced otherwise.

That'd be a whole nother can of worms with requisite certifications, etc. I don't see it.

They mentioned before that it would be a low production model. That was before shit hit the fan with shortages.

No doubt production was going to be low. It would seem as though Ford was too far into this one to cancel it as they no longer have the desire to promote high horsepower IC vehicles.

Couldn't they assign '22 vins and roll on? I know a person that got their '21 the first of this year. Which would suck but beats nothing at all.

If you spend some time at the EPA and CARB websites you see the endless labyrinth of requirements for a given MY in terms of emissions testing and certification. It gets complicated fast.

Or, you could have a beer and think about doing that.

I believe they only had plans to build around 1,500 Raptor R's in the first model year. How many GT500s have they been averaging a year? 1,500 plus a few crate engines is probably just enough to keep the niche line going for another year or two.
