We are going to the dealer this evening. Just doesn’t sit well having a new car that’s already been damaged and had paint and body work done I guess. Also doesn’t sound like they want to discount it much either, but we will see.

Mustang Thunderbird F150 & '22 Mach 1 on order.
Both have the handling package. The price difference comes from the FJG having leather, 700A package, and Mach 1 premium package. The EG was the standard Mach 1 with cloth interior.
Go for the leather!

Second update:

The car has been at Healey Brothers Ford for the wheel moldings since yesterday, however, they cannot find them yet again... I dropped off the car to have them check the alignment, install the moldings, and fix a modem issue. They reached out yesterday asking to keep the car overnight "in case the modem issue takes a while". The advisor called just now because he cannot fix the modem - claims that they reset and drive the car and it isnt working. Not sure why they need to drive it when the issue is the car wont connect to the ford app. Also, he advised he still doesn't know where the moldings are and want to hold onto the car again over night and hasnt done anything with my alignment.

I have had issues with their service department before but this is frusterating.

The saga continues:

Has anyone had issues with alignment at delivery? My incompetentship (dealership) confirmed that I was correct when I complained about my alignment being off - they had to outsource the alignment to a local shop because they claimed they couldn't get the Mach1 on the alignment rack due to the car being low.

Also, the major pain point for me is that my moldings were finally installed, however, the passenger side was completely messed up, not even remotely close to being flush with the car. Now they are ordering a new set for me.......

So i got some Great news - my Mach 1 with HP and manual finally got scheduled for production!

The debut of S650 has me second guessing purchase now though. It seems the new motor is really robust. Still think the S550 is the better design and i hate the ipad interior.

It’ll be interesting for sure to get more details - they haven’t announced the power numbers yet. That said, S650 is dual intake - that’s gotta be great! Another BIG question: Can you wait for 2024? They say “taking orders in summer 2023” I believe. We’ve recently seen how build/deliveries are going - some waiting almost another year.

Few things to consider:
1) You should avoid first year of a re-design
2) Who knows how long the wait list will be then and how much longer you will wait
3) Mach 1 is still unique in its own way and it will keep its value
4) The coyote is extremely robust to make about 700-800 hp with no issues. Unless you want to his some crazy power numbers we don't even know how much more robust that engine is
5) The ECU on the new coyote will be locked, who knows what complications this will bring to the tuner world.
6) You can always add S650 to your collection or sell your M1 at get price and get that

I saw a video of the Dark Horse and the engine is going to be around 500HP. I saw another video and the Ford manager in charge of the Mustang showed the new engine. Two throttle body's in the manifold roughly at 30 degree angles attached to the center of the intake. Each has its own air box and air hose to the front of the grill. The slots on the left and right of the grill is where it pulls the air in. I don't know how I feel about the all screen display, looks like an electric car display and they are placed on the dash not in it.
I am happy with the purchase of the 2022 Mach 1 and am waiting for its delivery

These are good points.

I would probably hang on to the Mach 1 and then trade it in for the “final” V8 edition at the end of S650 production since they are claiming it will be all EV in 2030…..

The wait is not an issue - this would be a 3rd weekend car. I ordered it as I wanted NA V8 with manual before they go extinct and always wanted a Mustang. I was close to getting GT350 in 2019 but deal fell through.

Curious who else is in this boat. I've been talking with the salesman about picking up my car tomorrow. He sent me pictures of the car after he said "she's ready for ya." It doesn't have the front splitter or gurney flap installed. I pointed it out and he said Ford doesn't pay the dealership to install them so if I wanted them put on, it's my dime. Anybody else have to pay for the install? It was a Special Order if that changes anything.

The dealer is lying, and that is complete BS.
The pieces not sent with the car are sent to the dealer marked with your VIN.
Unless you tell them not to, it's their responsibility to install them.
They are part of the car.

No. They don’t. Not at all.
Let me offer an example. I ordered a new instrument panel 2x so far because of damage in shipping. Ford uses a flimsy box and the narrow end comes through the box….TWICE! Thanks FedEx….Waiting for # 3.

The only thing I installed was the Gurney flap.
