I'm telling you guys if you don't mind sweat equity you might consider converting a car to the HP. The parts cost isn't that bad at all and you can change things along the way.

They have a California Special on the lot with almost all the options I ordered, but I’m holding out for the Mach 1. I know it’s possible that I won’t get the Mach, but that’s what I want. I’ve never ordered a car before- so I wanted this to be my special car. Who knows, maybe I’ll come back to this post in 90 days and see that I missed-both- cars… Time will tell

I don't think the HP is why they're getting delayed anymore. I ordered a non HP 700A almost 2 1/2 months ago and still don't have a build date or anything, much like most of the people posting in this thread.

If you don't want to pay MSRP or more, you are pretty much stuck waiting.

Personally, if I don't have the car by mid to late June, I'm going to consider it a lost cause and look at something else or try to be first in line for an S650 GT.

Don’t shoot me as the messenger but I glanced at the orders forum and it looks like production for first week of April is stopped. I got the feeling that N numbered cars are going to be rarer than M cars

I'm mentioning the HP as it slowed down many '22 orders including my own from October! Also if you're looking for a car on the lot there are and will be many more options in non-HP cars. I'm about $1,175 in for springs, sway bar, strut mounts, fender lip, rear tire spats, and hardware sitting in my garage. $1,000-1,200 for wheels (it's a wash because I would've bought the non-HP wheels for daily driving usage). Splitter and spoiler (okay it's black) can be picked up for $1,000. I seriously hope everyone gets their order.

up is down, black is white, male is female...we live in a backwards world
Yes, it appears so, but we don't have to like it or have to put up with it. The used market ought to go back up again if this lasts very long.

Is there any software differences between the HP and non-HP?

Magneride tuning is supposedly different. I've spoken with a few on the forum that have driven both (factory and converted) and haven't noticed a difference in the calibration. My plan is for a DSC sport module with 3rd party magneride tuning from a member here more than likely.

They Aren't Building ANY Mustangs next week. This has Zero to do with HP/non-HP and everything to do with semiconductors. Dropping the HP from my build will NOT get me my Mach 1 any faster at this point. Had I ordered a non-HP back in November I'd be driving it now. The HP Hold is over, and chips are what is delaying my car. Thanks.
