Has 2022 been confirmed?
Pretty sure. I’ll have to dig around and see if I can find the official statement on it. I thought it was mentioned on here somewhere

Nope, not yet.
That being said, I 100% cannot believe that there won't be a 2022 S550/Mach 1. The car is (apparently) doing well enough sales wise to continue producing (and we know the price has a ton of profit for Ford). And we haven't seen any advanced S650 mules running around to herald the release of the 7gen car in ~5 months

Ford wouldn't dare not produce way more than 15,000 Mach1 - or try to given the circumstances. The Shelby guys would drop dead from collective dissonance if the Mach1 was more rare than their precious GT350s.

Yeah, I think it's pretty much guaranteed too. Jim Owens said so unofficially when someone asked him too. Plus now PP1 orders are stopped so all parts go to Mach 1. It makes sense it'll come for 2022.

I don't really expect any changes, also given how few mustangs will be made in 2021. For EU and 2022, the new road safety technologies will be required but Ford already made them standard so that shouldn't be a problem. Except this one "The Regulation states that all motor vehicles are to be equipped with a system to aid the driver in complying with the statutory speed limit" which I'm glad I won't have, in EU aid becomes quickly forced.

Maybe with the Scamdemic they use one year of production to Level up the MACH1 name credit. When the S650 hits, they shelf the Shelby's for a couple production years and watch us scurry like rats to the Top nameplate MACH1. Then Boom the Shelby comes back again and us, like crack addicts, jump to the new King daddy.

There's a lot of business incentive to strategically hold a carrot out of reach, switching it out for an apple and back and forth.

Back in '69, the Mach 1 outsold the GT...............for the '70 model year Ford dropped the GT altogether.

That won't happen now, of course, but I'm sure Ford will sell as many Mach 1s as people will buy. Only the high entry price will keep the numbers low.

I'm sure I heard Jim Owens say it was a 2 year run in a very early video, but I've not been able to find it since. I have found one where Jim states the Fighter Jet Grey is unique for the '21MY. He specifically called out the '21MY.........so I think we may see a new "Appearance Package" color for '22. It'd be cool if they changed up the stripes, rather like the changes between the '69/'70 & '12/'13 Boss 302.

Personally, I think the limited exterior colors and no choice for interior color might have an effect on sales to some degree. There's little chance to have a unique combination as you can with lesser models.

I've said it before, I'd love to see this M1 in a modern version (more flip-flop to the metallic) of Gulfstream Aqua with a white interior.....

I could do without the white interior but man, gulfstream aqua or a few of the other classic colors? Take my money now!
