Yes, I realized that.To be clear, I wasn't saying that the C8Z06 wouldn't outperform the C7Z06 with equal, or even less HP, I was saying it's an interesting marketing task if it winds up with less.![]()

Well the peeps are throwing out hp/liter numbers.. might as well show the KING DADDY of NA engines. That's also got a MSRP of $3.2 million...38x that of the Z06.
Yeah, if nothing else, it's a ultra high-end max effort reference point.Well the peeps are throwing out hp/liter numbers.. might as well show the KING DADDY of NA engines.
Wow. That's a higher hp/liter output than many modern performance based forced induction engines such as 2020 McLaren GT (153.4 hp/liter), 2018 Audi RS5 (153.1), Civic Type R (153), 2017 911 Turbo S (152.6), 2019 BMW M4 CS (152.3), '20 Sheby GT500 (147). Nearly as much as a GT-R Nismo (157.9), and an '87 Porsche 959 (155.8).Aston Martin Valkyrie Engine Has 1,000hp NA. 154hp/Liter. That equate to a 770hp 5.0 liter NA.
I'm with you on the looks. Although If it looks like their C8.R race car I might be sold on it.The current kings of NA/liter off the top of my head are the 911 GT3 RS (520 hp 4 liters = 130 hp/liter), Ferrari 812 Superfast (789 hp 6.5 liters = 121 hp/liter), and the highest I can recall from memory is the Ferrari 458 Speciale (597 hp, 4.5 liters = 133 hp/liter). Given GM probably won't hit any of those values, but is likely to exceed the Voodoo hp/liter (101 hp/liter), I'd expect somewhere around 105-115 hp/liter with the newer more advanced tech. now compared to when the Voodoo was developed. 600 hp would be about 109 hp/liter. So I'd say that's a pretty safe estimate. I'd say it's very unlikely the GM engine will hit the hp/liter output of the German and Italian Supercars. I like the looks of the C7 Z06 better than than the C8 Z51, but I'll wait to see until the C8 Z06 comes out to decide on those two.
