It was actually a pretty funny video, I would say Belgian Throttle House (with Belgian style tracking ).

They went through the spec, which M4 had slightly better (power, torque, 0-100 time) and then during the ride concluded: M4 was more "agile" (I believe it would be "sharp" and "precise") and had better interior fit and finish. Mustang had some imperfections in the interior, felt more sluggish (like "steering a big boat, which does not change the direction that easily").

But these were apparently minor inconveniences compared to the fun factor Mustang (Mach 1) had, compared to M4:

• The shift stick felt more connected with the gearbox and gave a better feeling about the shifting.
• The sound of V8 is exceptional in both low and high RPM, and also its power distribution over the RPM.
• While when driving M4 in "normal" daily driving mode you feel like driving a normal car, in Mustang, even in "normal" mode it still gives you a feeling you are driving an exceptional car.
• The last major factor is also a price, Mustang ~ 61k EUR, M4 ~ 101k EUR, gives 40k EUR difference, which is not justified by the difference in the cars. (These prices are with VAT - for readers not familiar with EU market).

On the side note: the color of Mach 1 was Velocity Blue, which apparently gets greener when standing next to green M4 .

So after watching 5 months' worth of review videos it struck me that one fairly common reviewer conclusion is that the car is just plain fun to drive. Lots of discussion and debate about performance vs price but in the end it puts a smile on your face.

More than one video mentions that Ford has prohibited reviewers from tracking it, I assume because Ford knows lap times probably won't be any different than a PP2.

Late to the party but Jax seems to be the most sincere, non-apologist review for using the Mach 1 as a daily driver. Specially coming from a GM fan guy

I would not consider anyone with "StangMode" nick to be an authoritative reviewer for M4 vs Mach 1 either, but he did already several vids about Mach 1 in the past, compared it to GT350 and GT500 and you could feel he really liked the car, so I guess there is no harm in him liking it in this vid too

The BMW M4 and M2CS are amazing cars, and a blast to drive. Had some fun when looking for the wife’s car earlier this year.
Thing is though, and seems to be a constant theme in most of these comparison videos, is that you have spend about 20k+ or more to equal or beat the Mach1. Or give up handling (Dodge), or give up sight lines (Camero).
Ford really did hit the sweet spot between a daily driver AND high performance in my humble opinion.

BTW Wife ended up with an X3 4.0i (fantastic SUV and super fun to drive).

my mom took delivery of her x3m40i earlier this year and absolutely loves it. first bmw she's had and thinks its the best all around suv she's ever driven and she's had a quite a few.
