Were any produced in all black, or if i’m seeing an all black intake, is it in fact a GT350 specific? Looking at one for sale, and trying to determine if it could in fact be a 5.0 mani, but i thought all 5.0 manifolds were silver topped runners……no part number to go by. Any insight appreciated 👍🏻

2021 and up they went with a black color for the runners. All of them from 18-23 are exactly the same, just the color that changed midway through the cycle for some reason. So it very well could be a GT manifold. If you had a GT350 and 2021 GT side by side you'd be able to tell differences visually.

EFI thank you so much for the fast reply; just what i was looking for. Saw a black intake for a way too good to be true price, i really apprecite the confirmation! 😎

Well so now it could be an F150 intake, but those are distinctively different than a GT manifold as far as shape but they are black. Do you have a picture of it?

That does look like the 18+ IM and definitely not the GT350 mani.

just make sure you have the hoses you need if you’re trying to use it on a non 18+ car. That one looks stripped of it’s lines.

IMO you’ll be time and money ahead going straight to the GT350 setup with the VMP 80mm TB adapter on your Gen2. Take it to stage 2 and add the 87mm TB with Wengerd Tuning.

Thanks for the reply Nmm! And that’s definitley what i’m thinking of doing……just trying to decide between the ‘18+ vs. the 5.2 mani 🤔

Thanks for the input Greg! From everything i’ve read, i think you lose a negligible amount of torque and gain top end with the voodoo intake…….either way, 18+ or 5.2 intake, i’d definitley tune for sure. My Gen 2 is pretty much bone stock, only an axle back and a no tune CAI, so yeah…..pretty much still at 435 CHP i’m sure. I’m just wondering what kind of gains i can get by just upgrading the intake. I want my car to to retain it’s street mannerisms, not looking to ever go over 500…..just looking to grab a few easy HP! 🫡

I’ve been running the GT350/80mm TB combo since 2018, daily driven, all weather conditions, stock tune (stock MAF diameter). Honestly, there was no noticeable power loss, just smooth linear power with redline coming on in an instant. MPG actually increased. This is on a 2015 GTPP MT82 3.73

Nice, do you think there would be a significant difference from the 80 to the 87? And did you go straightaway with locking out the CMCV/IMRC? From what i gather they will still work with the GT350 intake as long as they aren’t tuned out. Seems the general consensus is just to tune them out before they eventually fail. My car is an MT82 non-PP WITH THE 3.55’s (i dig the length of my 1st, so happy there) Definitely leaning towards the GT350 intake route. Thanks so much for the advice from someone who has went this route; much appreciated 🍻

Virtually Plug N Play, the whole idea is to retain IMRC function. The GT350 IMRC are steel rods not plastic so failure is unlikely.
The 80mm vs. 87mm TB boils down to taking full advantage of the GT350 manifolds larger plenum opening. I’m fairly sure the 87mm TB tuned properly will out ET the 80mm.
You should search my post history going back to 2018 up. You’ll find everything you need to make your final decision.

The dynos are similar IIRC. Both give up a little torque down low and breath well up top. I did a ported 18+ w/ IMRC intact, ported 15-17 TB and an E85 tune. Ran great once I sorted out a problematic MAF signal from my chosen air intake.
