That’s right, i forgot about the steel flapper rods 😎 I will definitely go and read through your post/write up 🧐 Thanks again sir! 👍🏻
There’s a reason the Bullitt and Mach came from Ford with the GT350/87mm TB combo!
I should add I run the Bret Barber AFS 5 axis 80mm TB

Virtually Plug N Play, the whole idea is to retain IMRC function. The GT350 IMRC are steel rods not plastic so failure is unlikely.
The 80mm vs. 87mm TB boils down to taking full advantage of the GT350 manifolds larger plenum opening. I’m fairly sure the 87mm TB tuned properly will out ET the 80mm.
You should search my post history going back to 2018 up. You’ll find everything you need to make your final decision.
Pretty sure isnt exactly dyno data and if your driveability suffers at all its not gonna be worth it for 0.1 sec on the

Thats the kinda thing where its worth asking your tuner what they recommend. Wengerd has seen and tuned far more cars than you or I. If he thinks the 350 TB is a good add, then go for it.

i agree on retaining the IMRC function. $30 Pigtails will get you that on an 18 IM.

I’m skipping the 87mm and going straight to the Soler Perf. billet 90mm. I have real life things to work on first. The Soler billet is a masterpiece for sure. Mike has his “A” game.

(Hint: the reason is marketing).

As do i, i had also read that most tuners don’t really want to deal with tuning for them…..but if i’m understanding it correctly, with the pigtails for the 350 IM, that part of the factory tune just basically stays put, and they just work, which if true inwould certainly prefer 👍🏻

No pigtails needed on the Gen2 to GT350, PnP after unwrapping the loom a few inches.
You should go to Ford Performance website and down load the instruction for the PP3. You’ll get all the info needed.
I suggest the JDM Evap wire extension and purchasing the GT350 brake booster line, although not necessary but it makes the install a bit easier.

Same for the 18+ intakes. For tuners, any variable is a possible hang up, a possible glitch on the customer’s car. An extra variable that might cause more lost time. But I’m paying the bill and the active IMRC get more torque in more situations.

The marketing is
Bullitt and Mach
The GT350 combo on the 5.0 gen 2 or 3 is no BS. IMO.
Well the Mach 1 dynos are very strong compared to the 18+ GTs so thats good

Just got through reading the install on FP’s website…..i almost thinking for the $2,200 beans it might just save a ton of legwork to just order the PP3 directly from them as a complete package (instead of piecing everything together). Thier tune should suffice, no? Then maybe upmthe road have Wengerd perhaps fine tune if needed……pro’s and cons on that idea? 🤔

I really like the Mach, I couldn’t care less if it’s called a parts bin model.
Loved the 69 Mach almost as much as the Piss Yellow chopped 5 window of Milner’s from so long ago…

Some go that route. I still think you’ll want the JDM Evap extension and GT350 brake booster line. The FP tune is solid but can’t be modified so there’s the expense of upgrading down the road.

Gotcha! The FPpp3 says it comes with the brake booster line, but i’ll certainly look into the JDM extension
