2020 R Oil Separator

Recently got a 2020 R. Should I get a passenger side oil separator? Is it necessary?

Just ordered the Ford performance drivers side. Is there any difference drivers side vs passenger side?

Passenger or driver side?

I have it on the passenger side. Driving car spiritually, not yet tracking. Oil separator have oil inside. Driver side tube is dry. So, I'm not installing on the driver side.
Not sure if oil separators are needed in voodoo engines as it's port injected vs. direct injected engines. View attachment 443859

I research on this topic and most say needed. I've read the article from engineer stating that it's not needed due to port injection. You may research on your own and decide if you needed or not. IMO, given the price of this separators, it's good to have it just for piece of mind. I just saw you ordered drivers side, change to passenger side if it's not too late.

IMO if it were really needed Ford would have installed one after all these years and miles of testing and actual experience. I would guess if you are a track junkie install one, if not, don't waste your money.

What is the procedure to drain the passenger side Ford performance one? It looks like the JLT you just unscrew the canister at the bottom is that correct ? ( it just does not look original under the hood with the black polymer though) ?

I believe it is worth it. I have had one on every car I have owned and they all catch a lot of gunk.
