Hello Mustang Brain,
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2019 GT. It will have the 10 speed auto. I wanted the manual but that was the deal I had to make with my wife to get the car!
Is there anything that I need to look out for on that year? I have read that last 10 pages on the forum here, but I'm supposed to be working, so I thought I would just ask it here.
Thanks.

These are generally good cars.

Warning I would give you is that the BMS (battery management) causes the car to throw random ABS and PCM codes when the battery goes. Given your MY, and if you are on the original factory battery, expect this to happen one random day. There is also a good chance the battery will test fine, so if you experience a bunch of random codes, suspect the battery.

Also, generally speaking, A/C compressor and/or evap issues I see get mentioned a lot on these forums as a common failure.

Teach the wife how to drive a manual and get what you REALLY want

It's a valuable life skill that can be taught in 30 minutes and practice time.
Just remind her about her mom teaching her how to bake bread from scratch, peel potatoes, boil water, and use a colander. Same thing.

Thanks all. I looked at the car yesterday.
he “stanced” the rear. Tires are pretty much touching the 1/4 panel. I’m not sure how that is done as that is not my thing. I’m assuming spring change or cut.
As for the manual vs auto. I would love to go the manual route, but unfortunately I have had some health issues and I’m concerned that down the road I might have issues with a manual. But I have not shared that thought with her.

I switched to automatic transmissions about 5 years ago, because of issues with my left leg. It takes a while to adjust to driving a performance vehicle with automatic, but they really are superior to manuals in every respect.

I bought an A10 for two reasons, first, I feared that in 10 years I wouldn’t be able to clutch, and second, even though my wife can drive a standard, she prefers not to. We have just passed five years with the car, and my knees have not even begun to exhibit any issues, I can still crouch and get up without any trouble, and, my wife, well, she has perhaps driven the car half a dozen times. The A10 is starting to exhibit the harsh downshift issue. When I coast to a stoplight, the 5-4 and 4-3 shifts are becoming jerky. Not really bad, but noticeable. And yes, I have recently begun to wish I had bought a manual. You should too.

At the end of the day what matters is what you like and make you happy
Me, I’m a manual guy but i would never put down someone because they want or have an automatic

Where is the car you are looking at? Did you buy it?

Drove one last night with the wife. Did not have the options that I wanted, but she liked the car so that is good. Unfortunately she really wants red (not my first choice), so I'm looking for something very specific. The good news is we are not in a hurry and I'm not opposed to traveling for the right car.
