The new Mustangs are high reving small blocks(displacement speaking) they demand rpm to take advantage of air flow thru those 4 valves. You "think" you have 3:55's, maybe you don't. Gears will wake up the manual for less $ than turbos or S/C. The 19+ cars tranny gears are really not good for low end, or anything other than better gas mileage. If I were to mod mine, it would be gears, axels and lighter wheels first, along with Stop the hop kit from Steeda. Drive it hard when safe to do so, "teach" the computer a more aggressive driving style rather than lugging it around. Anyhow, enjoy it and be safe.

I know one thing I've always wondered if revving out engines can wear them out quickly? I'm sure it will because of the heat and friction. But I know that how many of a manual transmission there's no way around other than revving the engine.

There's several things to consider, but I'd be more inclined to look at some simple things such as the gas you're using. Is the octane rating at 93? Also, I once got what I call a "bad batch" of gas at one of the stations I use. To remedy that, I put about 10 oz. of Seafoam in my tank, took it out on a back stretch of interstate and floored it. Your mileage is low, so injector clogging may not be an issue.

these engines were built to rev there is no need to baby it. i think the issue you are having is not giving it enough throttle while engaging 1st. seriously you are not going to break anything and if you did the car is under warranty. its better to find the weak parts now instead of 50k miles later.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but what fuel are you running? I noticed a big difference from 87 to 93.

When you shift your gears and let go of the clutch pedal do you also press the accelerator a little bit as you're letting go of the clutch?
When I'm at the catch point, yes. I give it a little throttle for a smooth gear change.

The auto is a 10 speed, that'll rev the car way more often and in more gears than you will in a manual. This engine is designed to rev.

I don't mean this offensively but are you not good at driving stick? This car has a lot of torque management and clutch/transmission protection built in. With all the nannies on, if you have a bad engagement, the pcm kills the power output to protect the drivetrain. The car feels like it has virtually no toraue after that.

I find it not overbearing in low rpm's, but she will spin in 1st from a light. That being said, when you let it sing over 4000, man it goes.

if I’m not mistaken you do have modes, all mustangs do. What you may not have is active exhaust that is tie to your modes.
300A M/T cars do not have driver modes

Stock GT is a dog, it’s a 400hp/3900 pound tank. Add a blower-game changer.
Most stock GTs are louder than they are fast…..
Lol what? I get what you're saying, but last I checked over 400whp is not "a dog", unless you're used to really fast cars already. A stock A10 GT with the performance pack can easily click off a high 11 second pass at over 120mph completely stock, that seems pretty OK to me for a heavy car fresh off the dealer lot with NA power.
If you double tap the traction control button you get sport+ mode.
It's actually "track" mode apparently. At least that's what someone on here told me.

It definitely flashes "sport+" mode on the dash. I don't think anyone knows for certain if it's closer to sport or track mode. I don't like the artificially aggressive throttle mapping, personally, so I don't use it.

Wow, I never knew that. Now do you double tap the button quickly, or disabling advanced track.

Hopefully, a Hybrid/Electric/ Direct drive solution will solve the sluggish problem in the future. Or go for the “flex tune” E85 will really wake up the car - just kidding it doesn’t. #seatofthepantsdyno

Quick ish. If you double tap it like you're playing a shooter it's too fast. Maybe a half second inbetween? If it shows traction control disabled it didn't work. It'll flash a box saying sport+ is activated or something, in the same place that would show traction control disabled. You also can't have advanced traction control disabled and use sport+ simultaneously.
