It's a manual so, should be expected, which is what the OP asked about. Put some grippier tires on yours and you might get down to 3.7. You askes what is the point of all the horsepower and my answer is to have it when you want it. Everything isn't about 0-60 mph. For 0-60, I would choose a different weapon :) Your A10 is fast 0-60 and you should enjoy it. I didn't buy it for the 0-60 mph....I've already got that covered

I sort of chuckle when reading this because bone stock with my '18 GT PP1 I personally did 0-60 in 3.80 seconds in my A10 with Michelin all season A/S 3+ in sport+ mode (tires spun too much in drag mode on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts w/ the all seasons). Not trying to start a fight here, serious question: What's the point of all your hp if you can't even use it - even w/ Mickey Thompsons?

A lot of people don't know the newer manual cars have launch control standard under the "track apps" menu. With drag radials alone and a good launch I can see you getting most of the way there. But if you buy a stick shift car for 0-60 runs you kind of shot yourself in the foot, as you say. It's really hard on the clutch and axles as well. Automatics can slip the converter and have much lower driveline shock. I will say though that the car has a really good "5-60" aka when you start rolling and mat it. If you ignore launching you can beat a lot of cars with a faster 0-60 time. So you can be faster in most real world situations without roasting your clutch all the time.

I agree with you...I do have to say the 1st to 2nd shift in the manual is not really designed for going after that 0-60 though. Once I switch to High horsepower half shafts, I may give it a try just to see.

Why do you say that? My 1-2 shift is like butter even at 7500RPM. Maybe I'm just lucky though.

I was referring to it will spin through first if you get on it hard. I guess I worded it wrong. Heck, it spins through 1st. 2nd, 3rd, and the initial shift into 4th at high rpm.

the guy from brenspeed? put something called a clutch tamer on his 10sec. coyote to stop tire shock.

I'll have to agree to disagree buddy. Cheers.
One of you has a Gen 2 the other a Gen 3. The Gen 3 is higher compression and close to max timing advance on 93 octane. The gen 2 can use some additional timing on 93 and still keep the knock sensors happy. That is why the gen 2 will pickup more power from a tune on pump gas vs the gen 3. Same reason the Gen 3 picks up so much on E85 compared to the gen 2.

The best part of a tune is the removal of all the limiters in place and the trans shift stuff if an auto.

I used that built in track thing the other day just for shits and giggles. My 0-60 was 4.0, I lol'd
