Mine makes the sound between 1500-2500 rpm under light load, mostly in 1st and 2nd gear. Shifter pressure doesn't make the sound go away, it just changes the pitch a little. Kind of like muffling it, but it doesn't stop it. Now that I hear it, I can hear it in 6th at cruise (1850rpm), though it's really difficult to pick up over the road noise. I know it's there though because if I push the clutch in the noise goes away.Is yours around the same 1900 RPM or so? I can make a very similar sound with my transmission if I keep pressure on the shifter.. Yours may very well be tranny related... Can you make it go away with shifter pressure?
Car runs perfectly fine. Makes good power, and I got nearly 29mpg on my road trip last weekend...so whatever it is doesn't seem to be effecting performance in any way.
