@DarkHor$e could you mark up on this roughly where you cut? With stuff like this I really need a visual to understand it personally

And anyone care to proof my as-built changes maybe? My car is a 2017 base model V6 Auto with rear parking sensors and a Sync 3 swap including drive modes.

IPC:
720-01-01 8C0B 1484 6094 (B is from my default ABD, on the baseline it has a C though?)
720-01-02 0C13 1049
720-02-01 6D80 3C34 1EA3 (6 because auto)
720-02-02 1A00 A1E6 (1 at the first spot because I have the rear parking sensors)
720-03-01 2002 5E00 00AB
720-03-02 C818 000C (C at first spot because I have a factory spare)
720-04-01 0400 0000 0030 (base line has a 6 instead of 4, but my default ABD is showing a 4 for some reason? Guessing I might need to change this to 6 due to the new cluster...)
720-04-02 5553 02D7
720-05-01 0830 0000 002D
720-05-02 0000 002E
720-06-01 7D6F 866D B018
720-06-02 4800 0077
720-07-01 0000 0000 002F
720-07-02 0000 0030

SCCM:
724-01-01 0020 2600 73
724-02-01 CA20 7809 99
724-03-01 1733 0000 79
724-04-01 4040 0000 B4 (my default ABD had 5040 as the start, baseline shows 4040 instead)
724-05-01 D000 0000 01
724-06-01 0000 0000 32
724-07-01 0000 FFFF 31
724-08-01 FFFF FFFF 30
724-09-01 FFFF FFFF 31

Went ahead with my install tonight anyway, used what I posted above and encountered some Service Has Been Interrupted Errors initially. Those didn't go away with uninstalling/reinstalling Forscan like some people had reported - I ended up deleting my vehicle profile which brought up another issue where Forscan doesn't detect tuned vehicles and I had to reflash my stock tune (love how slowly the X4 does that /s).

After doing that, was able to connect and program my mileage then also start with the other programming bits.

For some reason the odometer rewrite did not take my actual entered figure? I put in 40262.3, it said on the pop up screen, then showed 40260.5 instead (also showing on my cluster now)? When I tried to rewrite it again, it warned that the number was lower so I'm not sure what's actually happening.

Now I've got a U0401 (full is U0401:82-0A) code for the IPC, not sure why but in the process of flashing my tune back on now - hopefully it magically disappears.

Spoiler/edit » code did not magically disappear but I'm tired of tinkering for tonight. All said and done, my install probably took about 5 hours with 2.5 of that being fighting with Forscan and going back and forth from the car to my apartment to try downloading different stuff / searching for others' possible solutions. The other tough part for me as a guy without many good tools was the damn torx screws on the top of the SCCM. My Torx screwdriver is a POS that I need to replace because it just spins the handle while the bit stays in place -.- So I sat there using pliers to twist it from the base a quarter turn at a time. Thankfully it booted back up with no issue.

Tape, I've got a little bit of a rattle that popped up last night actually but I only used some window trim tape that was thinner than what was shown in the picture so that could be why for me. For the cutting like Darkhor$e, I'm a visual person on that type of stuff and I wasn't really getting his description so I didn't bother with it.

Sorry, i don't get here much since i sold the stang. you will cut out most of the center and up top, but you need to leave a link on the left side where i marked to keep the plastic joined in one piece, basically you taking the center out of it but leaving the surrounding portion, the bottom for the clips, and the TOP so you can drill into it and it will be stable instead of flopping around, which is what will happen if you break the link between the upper surround gutted portion and the now lower portion. the existing line is pretty thin, you have to cut, insert the cluster, and take a look, remove and cut. I think i was able to join them with like a 1/2" of plastic remaining.

@DarkHor$e Could you share the gallery? I don't know why this forum is set up to default to private but they won't display to genpop that way.

Another successful install here. I ordered the kit from Sam (breeves02) and it really was plug and play !

Even got a display with the diff temp so happy about that. I also opted to use the Darkhor$e method which worked great!

Takes a bit more time on the install but the cluster is in there rock solid no vibrations or movement etc. Attached some pics and tried to outline the best I could on where to cut, punch, drill, and screw. Hopefully will be useful for someone in the future

Hi all,
I did this swap yesterday to my 2017 GT convertible.
Installed the digital cluster and programmed it with Forscan. Fine.
Changed the buttons on the steerong wheel to the 2018s.
My last problem is, that the new steering wheel button "sends" the old signals. Let me please explain: in standard the 2017 has the arrows for the menu and the "OK" button on the left upper part of the steering wheel. The new 2018 buttons have this function on the right upper buttons. But the menu only changes and "OK" will be entered, when I push the buttons on the left site (Vol + Vol - and mute as "OK"). Is there something wrong with the wiring? Does it need to changed internally in the steering wheel? Or is there a problem with the forscan programming?
Kind regards,
Daniel
