What ever it is, it's enough of a wtf is that sound to prevent me from modding the car anything more than an axleback. I have a PP2 kit sitting in my garage that damn near belongs in the Smithsonian. One of the first 25 to get it.

The base Mustang interior is fine for a $25k car. Add 101A and it's actually pretty nice for the price point.

It's entirely true to the Pony car segment that Ford will put a V8 into a car with practically a base model interior. If you think $10k is too much to pay for V8 power with a rental car interior, so sorry that's the price of admission for a V8 in the current market.

It's not going to get any better. As much as manufacturers want V8 bragging rights, escalating fuel economy requirements mean that those models are going to have to become a smaller part of the product mix, and that means higher prices.

And again. You want a nicer interior - 301A adds $2k and 400A adds $4k. A GT Premium at $40k is a good value in today's market.

I never understood the complaint. My interior is awesome, and I only have 301A. My 2011 WRX STI was crap in comparison.

Too nice? Relative to what, older Mustangs? I would definitely agree that the S550's interior is a lot better than previous generations, but features seem to still be lacking. I guess it's the tech side in me that wishes for more. Don't get me wrong, I love the car(and Sync 3 is one of the best entertainment systems out there), but it's more like wishful thinking at this point.
Yeah we just have different wants. I don't care too much about tech in my car. I like to focus on driving.

No, relative to any other car in it's range. 2018 Mustang has a better interior than my 2013 BMW and the Ford offers more technical achievements. Not sure what "features" are missing, would you care to inform us...?

The Mustang interior is better than the Camaros, the Corvettes and the Dodge too. Matter of fact, it is hard to find a better designed interior than the Mustang's design and ergonomics, in an American sportscar.

I was actually talking about the '15-'17 interior. I haven't sat in an '18 yet.

I find it hard to believe that the Mustang interior leads all American sports cars. If so, that's downright pitiful.

I guess I'm just asking for too much. The Mustang is a product of the trickle down effect from luxury cars, which is fine. Most lower priced cars are the same way.

I was expecting softer leather on the seats, the cooled portion of the seats to work better, power lumbar on the passenger seats, folding mirrors, etc.

Says the guy that has a Mustang on order. Have you sat in a '15-'17 or your '18 yet?

LOL me too, I thought I was crazy. I prefer analog gauges, it’s just what I grew up on and a digital seems like a video game to me. I also don’t care much for a big screen on my dash, it can be very distracting to me…give me a radio and Bluetooth and I will be good. I also prefer cloth because leather sticks to my skin and here in Cali, it can get hot and uncomfortable. I’ve sat in my uncle’s p90 and I didn’t like it at all, felt like I was in a spaceship. That is the future though and people seem to want it, I’ll just stick with my 2018 with the basic interior.

My only complaint is the base cloth is sub-par, compared to similar market vehicles including Chevy and Dodge (and Subaru and even other Fords). And just to be clear, I'm talking about the actual cloth used for the upholstery. I would prefer cloth based on where I live, I just don't know how I'll feel sitting in it every day.

I agree that the interior is nice.

I wish I could get a convertible with 301a instead of having to go premium.

Can you give an example of a competitive vehicle that has those features? It sounds like you're looking for a $35k ATS-V Coupe. You don't seem to understand the economics of manufacturing a 450hp RWD coupe.

I've sat in every trim level of the '15-'17 and driven most of them. By all accounts the '18 is an upgrade. I've also sat in or driven most of the competition. That's why I'm interested to hear some actual examples of vehicles that check your boxes.

I'm in the same boat. I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about "tech". Tech is for my desktop/laptop.

In my GT, I've got the windows down or cracked and listening to nothing except my exhaust. I almost never use the radio. If I need directions, I use my phone. And if someone calls, I have bluetooth. That's it. All I'll ever need as far as tech goes.

And I love my cloth recaros and the rest of the interior is more than adequate to me.

I'm all about driving it.

Yeah, you also aren't the typical driver on the road. You are what's called an outlier. Tech is what sells cars. If it wasn't for tech, there would be no Coyote.

I respectfully disagree and would like to say speak for yourself. There are options for every type of owner, whether you like gadgets and gizmos or if you are looking for the driving experience. For the money spent there are few cars that can match the driving experience of the Mustang. If it is the gadgets and gizmos that you are after than I believe the Mustang is not the first place to look.

"Tech" apparently means different things to different people. The Coyote can only be found in one car right now.

The Mustang is an excellent "drivers" car, I agree. The body style is one of the best out there as well. Also, I'm big into tech as it is what I do for a living and a hobby. Maybe I have unrealistic expectations? That's a possibility. Ideally, I'd like all the tech in a Tesla with the Mustang body style. Somebody mentioned the newer Cadillac ATS's. I have to say, they do look good. I'm a fan. But I digress. I know this thread was supposed to be about the MT-82.

Actually the "outlier" as it were is the buyer willing to pay $ for high performance. That's why the Coyote exists, regardless of its interior. And assuming that someone who thinks differently than you is an "outlier" is pretty self-important.

"Tech is what sells cars..."

Funny - the best selling vehicles in the country aren't high tech - they are work trucks. And the reason cars sell is totally based on that particular buyer. Some buy for price. Some buy for economy. Some buy for reliability. Some buy for utility. Some buy for - well you get the picture. Most people also buy for a number of reasons, almost always one reason being more important than the other.

Almost every buyer buys, at least partly, based on their attraction to the looks of a certain vehicle. Last time I checked, they still used clay to make scale models of prototype cars. Remember - looks. Sounds pretty low tech to me.
