Just posting to see if someone can give me some thought or answer or if you have had this problem yourself. So downshifting from 4-3 there is a very present bump in the brake pedal that can be felt like you can feel the transmission just shifted roughly. Sometimes the downshifting can be very jerky/clunky. It only has 21k miles on it I mean rarely but it happens when you left off the throttle and give it slight acceleration you can feel the transmission catch in your feet or worse sometimes it’s a very rough catch is this normal behavior of these very tight geared 10 speeds?

Sport+ mode?

Mine is random. In Normal, it normally drives great, I just hate how quickly it wants to get into high gears, but its going for the economy. And Normal shifts from 1-2 way too quick. S and S+, its random, but sometimes the shifts are slamming unproprotionately. It does seem if I drive it for 10-15 mins, before going into S or S+, its fine, and if you drive like a race car driver in those mods the car loves it. They just aren't always great for normal traffic and redlights.

Yea mine does it in normal mode. Coming up to stop lights and stuff sometimes it’s butter smooth sometimes it’s a rather abrupt harsh shift that can be felt below your feet. Mine is very eager to get into high gears and you can feel it sometimes when your at a lower rpm while cruising shift into that high gear which I think your talking about?

I found that in normal mode, the gear spacing is so close (10th gear by 49 mph), that minor variations in the gas pedal can make it hunt up and down for the right gear and sometimes get clunky. So, I never use normal (D) mode. S mode opens gear spacing a little and makes it a little more enjoyable to drive.

Yeah, Ive noticed 10th by 50 mph is a bit much lol. Where S+ will keep you in 9th many times and it acts better.

Give this thread a good read. It will answer many questions.

When your in S+ mode does it shift pretty firm like when downshifting and when upshifting during some shifts give you a good jump like it’s ready to do some pulls lol

Do you have a digital gauge cluster? Is that how you know you are going form 4-3? Or is it just a guess?

My car does the same thing...except all the time in normal mode. However, I get those rough and bumpy downshifts when it goes 3rd to 1st. I suspect it is the action of jumping two gears and disengaging the TC lock all at the same time.

I found that in normal mode, the gear spacing is so close (10th gear by 49 mph), that minor variations in the gas pedal can make it hunt up and down for the right gear and sometimes get clunky. I agree with Balr14. To me, S mode is better in all circumstances except when going down hills :cwl:

S Mode (not sport+) will also have you hit every gear on the way down. It will feel a little funny at first. But I swear it makes the downshifts smoother *mostly. Maybe try that for a while.

Otherwise you may need to have the transmission retrained 🙄
