I sorta disagree. If they would have listened to the consumer they would have did the following:
*Performance Package with auto
*Premium interior option on V6
*Better sounding sound system at all levels
*More color options w/ Premium leather (Ceramic and dark saddle anyone?)
*Lower gear option on the Performance Pack
Yeah true, they didn't get everything, but still, they could have just let the car be as-is and they wouldn't have lost many if any sales.

*Performance Package with auto
Still don't know why they didn't do this. The only thing I see that would be a challenge is the engine tuning that is apparently unique to the PP cars. They figured it out on the 50th LE though...

*Premium interior option on V6
I still think Ford is trying to phase out the V6, and push it to the rental market and push customers into the EB. I don't necessarily agree, but if that's their motive then don't expect a Premium V6 to ever be offered in S550

*Better sounding sound system at all levels
This has been quite a debate. While I don't think the stereo is THAT great, Ford would have to do a complete overhaul and tuning to get it fixed. Probably not something they wanted to deal with considering they were focusing on Sync3 which I think is more important (MFT is horrible IMO)

*More color options w/ Premium leather (Ceramic and dark saddle anyone?)
I saw a few complaints about this, but not as many as the PP Wheels issue. Again, this would take some design time and inventory for a relatively small percentage of customers. Probably not a deal-breaker for most customers either. The premium trim isn't really all THAT special anyway.

*Lower gear option on the Performance Pack
Yeah if I were to order a 2016, that'd be the only drawback to getting the PP with a convertible. I think the 3.55 gears I got are perfect. Although this is an easy swap for a customer or even dealer to do post-sale.

I would hazard to guess that Ford has a good reason for NOT offering the PP on the automatic equipped cars. I don't think they are oblivious of the desire for it and are sitting around saying, "let's piss off potential buyers". What those reasons are, I have no idea, but I would guess it might have to do with meeting CAFE standards. The anniversary models were a limited number, thus very small impact, if any, on the fleet average. If you offer it on tens of thousands of cars, that likely changes.
The auto anniversary car actually has a partial performance package. No 3.73 Torsen diff offered only a 3.55 lsd.
I think Fords thinking is they don't want to make the Torsen available on an auto car with the 3.73 due to the r680's low initial gearing, not ideal for street use and meeting CAFE requirements? Just my guess.
Also an auto with the 3.73 would be a weekend warrior's dream at the strip and the Torsen wasn't designed optimally for strip use due to its torque biasing, more for road racing.

Glad I ordered a 15 with the 20" black foundry wheels, does not look likes it's gonna be an option for the 16's, IMO they are the best looking wheels Ford has ever offered.

Well, I for one, wasn't expecting to get the 3.73. I knew it would be the 3.55. I still think the car is great but it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I will probably still get the GT Auto.
On a side note, does anyone know the width of the 19" Cal. Spc. wheels? (8.5 or 9)

I didn't realize that...that's interesting! Still, they could have offered the PP for Auto GTs and done the same thing; subbed in the 3.55 LSD for the 3.73 Torsen.

Can you let us know if you're able to make an order today? I've been to 2 of my local dealers and they said they can't order 2016 yet. Both of them didn't know the order guide was even out yet. I'm still making my way to some more dealers to see if any are capable of ordering.
Just left Galpin Ford and he said not available for order yet. Checked with 2 other dealers, same thing. I can't get a 2016 PIN either quite yet. It'll probably all land at the same time.

Looks like you can't get the California Special and the Performance Package together?

Nope. Ford, like AM/PM -thinks it's too much of a good thing!
Well, I've got no reason to wait for a 2016 now. Hope the other post earlier about 2015 orders until May 28th is correct. I'll likely be making an order Memorial day weekend.

I care about infotainment
Someone talk me off the ledge of ordering a 2015. I just got $quoted 38k OTD for a 2015 GT Premium w/PP. I doubt the incentives will be the same by the time I take delivery of a 2016 in September/October so that price could jump to $39.5k easy and my current car may be worth less by that time.

Someone convince me to keep waiting! I want to but can I afford to? :headbonk:

I am in the same boat, but I keep telling myself that SYNC 3 is upgraded via wifi and MFT is stuck lol. Only reason I am holding out for 2016.

Yep this is the one thing that keeps me holding on for the 2016s. If MFT was upgradeable to SYNC3 I would have ordered a 2015 months ago.

If gladly pay $1.5k for Sync3! In fact, I may pay more to either get it on my 2015 or go aftermarket
