Not the best economic sense by you. Let's say new mustang cost few thousand more than used, you get a brand new car with new warranty vs used that could be beat up shit. No thanks to used shoes.

Know what you’re buying. New cars are the worst financial decision by anyone 98% of the time.
Unless you’re paying cash, 0% financing and keeping the car for 7 years+, it’s the worst financial move most do.

I'd look for a leftover 22, there's huge incentives on them right now. I know in most areas Ford is offering financing incentives or cash.

I'm in the camp of get a base newer car, but you should be able to get a 301A with the money you save if you find a leftover 22. 301A is the sweet spot to me, but 300A is fine as well (that's what I have).

The Gen 3 engine is really a gem, and I know some people have issues with the tall manual gears, but I think for normal people it's not really a big deal. If you're the type that likes to dog it at every light, it might annoy you. But for normal driving, it just feels like a normal car. But when you open it up, it feels like a special experience. Even with 3.55's, 2nd gear is just about perfect for rocketing onto the highway. The rest of the gears beyond second are exclusively used for crime (or fuel economy if you're into that).

Except for the last 3 years buying used was an even worse proposition. That will rectify itself soon. We hope.

My attitude on 22 or newer is I'm doing the dealer a big favor by taking an unloved unit off his lot. Therefore he's going to eat no less than 10% of depreciation right there right now. Frankly it should be 15%. One deal I negotiated was 17% off. No incentives at play except Ford Finance stupid enough to write zero percent

Any new 22 still unsold means the dealer failed to do his job. Don't reward his failure. Crucify him.

Most 2022’s near me have now sold thanks to the 0% but there’s still a decent number of 2023’s and I’m seeing advertised markdowns of $3-$5k now. One dealer in particular has a half dozen incoming S650’s posted on their site now so they want to clear out the 23’s. There’s definitely deals to be had on leftover new stock, take advantage OP.

as long as the radio works i'm good. I am more of a buttons and knobs over touchscreen guy. Not a fan of the digital display speedo either. The light from those displays kills my night vision .

They make a huge difference. I was very happy with my last Mustang after a rear gear change, it more than made up for the change in the trans.
