So one of my guys at Ford said that the EB Stang will weigh in at around 3200 LBS.

If that really is true, the Corvette better be worried.
Wow, 3200 pounds for an I4 would be killer.

I was thinking of saving for a GT this time around but that would make me seriously consider the 4 cylinder. I cant wait to test drive this puppy. This is gonna be one long ass wait :frusty:

I'm gonna go ahead and say the 400 pounds is the weight differential between the 4 banger and the V8.

They probably pushed hard to get that MPG as high as possible to sell it to the European crowd and make a real business case for the added trim. It also gives them some nice bragging rights, afterall you only need one trim to say "the Mustang shed XXX pounds".

For length, this is by no means scientific, but it should be very close since I'm going off of what they couldn't camouflage... the axle locations:

V8 trim should be no more than 250lbs over a Turbo 4 adding in some pretty hefty suspension, brakes and wheel/tires. The V8 is only about 100lbs heavier than a Ecoboost 2.0 and Ford may try to share transmissions across the line-up.

I'm still saying the GT will carry a 3399lbs curb weight as I have before. It looks like the wheelbase could have come down a bit. The S550 is smaller than the current C7 Corvette.

Nice comparison man.

I'm not seeing 15 inches but I guess we dont know where the rear end stops. What do you guys think about the exhaust pipes sticking out so far out? Is that just for testing?

The scale of the Boss is slightly larger. Try to measure the tires after you scale both images. Measure them by the pixel... The Boss's tires are 141 pixels and the S550's are 133.

This doesn't really work because there is no way to tell if they are to exact scale. I guess if you knew the diameter of the tires on both cars, you could line them up that way, but you don't know the the wheel base on both is the same also. My bet is that they are different, due to it being an all new chassis.

As the man said it is not scientific. It's not like we are going to get measurements out of this.

This is all an exercise based off the rumors...... and if the rumors say the wheelbase is the same then we should go with that to see how it compares to the spy photos if the wheels are matched up exactly.

Sounds like we are getting another Mustang II with those dimensions 'cept this time with some real power to push that smaller and lighter frame around......... I've been waiting for Ford to do this for decades.....

OK, I scaled the Boss down, but I'm fairly certain it's got larger wheels than the 2015 test mule. What's unmistakable is that there will be a little added to the front and a little taken from the back-- and the wheelbase is shorter.. although not by much.

Yes I believe it is done so the camo doesnt get in the way. Can't really tell anything about the rear overhang based off of it right now.

I remember thinking at the time looking at the spy photo closeups that the wheels looked like 19's but its hard to tell obviously.

What's even more obvious than the shorter overhangs is how much it lost in height and just plain bulk even under all that camo and padding. It looks to sit much lower too.

I just hope at 6'4" 220lbs I still fit in the S550. I couldn't fit in the SN95 and was really excited when I fit in my 05 S197 so well.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant the weight differential between the 2015 4-cylinder and the 2014 V8. So that would put it at around 3220 pounds for the I4 and would have great efficiency, maybe the only way they could make the case for a another 4-cyl turbo that is NOT an SVO in spirit.
