Also throw a little thanks to Ford engineers and government crash mandates while your at it.
He thanked Ford engineers when he decided to spend his hard earned money on this vehicle instead of a competitor's.

Yeah that's totaled. Every panel has damage and 3 airbags deployed.

But the car did it's job and protected you and your friend, and God came thru and kept it all together.

Hope you get yourself another car soon :)

Read some old reviews on the Pirelli P Zero tires specifically in a Road and Track "Blind" comparison tire evaluation and the results were pretty damning I must say. Out of nine tires tested in "General" daily driver road conditions, the P Zeroes came in dead last! The testers at R &T were very surprised (and I'm paraphrasing here) how poorly the tires handled anything but track-like dry road conditions overall especially considering the cost per tire After reading that review, I may be considering other tire options in my immediate future
You talking about the summers or all seasons? I assume the summers.

Glad your OK, I hope the car is totaled. I know I wouldn't want it back repaired.

Ouch!! Sucks to see this. But at the end of the day your life matters most. So glad you are ok.

Secondly (For PP tires only),

Even in warm weather say 65 degrees, you still need to warm up your tires to get full traction. Especially when it is below 55 or so, the first few minutes I drive feels like I'm driving on springs or basketballs. Keep hopping around all over the place. But I expected that with summer tires. However, once they're warmed up, they've always been good for me even in the rain below 50 degrees. Although it is better to have all seasons/winter tires depending on your regions climate, for me living in TX, summer tires are OK as long as I know how to be safe on them.

Very glad to hear you and your friend are okay. The car can always be replaced and hopefully it's totalled. If you can, let us know how things work out with insurance. Good luck.

I believe the hydroplaning explanation. Given that we don't know how soon after the accident the pictures were taken, it could have been a flash rainstorm and then let up quickly. It's on a bridge with small drainage holes, and seems banked to one side. Just one puddle with enough water standing could cause this easily. I doubt it's totaled without any pillar damage but who knows.

Here is another tire related crash post from a forum member. No separate thread on this.

I set a new fing record 4 days and totaled going a fing 35mph. Going to throw up some more:frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

ps airbags work and leave a bad bruise on inside of elbow
didn't see that, just going to say under 55 degrees the tires have no traction and 30 mph and a curb totals car. Traction Control ON full less then half throttle. No marks on car or road just the rim and back bumper dislodged on passenger side from frame damage. ALL air bags popped. No actual body damage or scratches. really no reason for airbags to go off. My left elbow now looks twice its size and top left of head hurting. Damage on right rear tire hit. Then you see the cars with front ends knocked off but no air bags.

The police where even commenting and looking at all the air bags and wtf.

I said no tickets.
like ice skating for the first time.
I will definitely be ordering different tires in the next week or so.

So I was just on a road trip to a Church convention and hydroplaned and went head on in the wall. Needless to say I'm very thankful to God me and my friend were completely okay without a scratch, although I'm sad about my car

Glad every one was okay. Another reason I try to avoid driving mine in the rain.

Thought so. What have you heard about the NERO's?
good overall four season tire according to consumer reports poll of over 30 participants polled. Some reported excessive road noise and a tendency to "break free" without warning in wet conditions if speed exceeded posted speed limits but overall it was rated as a good general purpose tire.

Jeez...I know this isn't on Ford in terms of the conditions/driving, but they really need to see these and offer a non summer tire for the PP. I don't care if they believe the PP shouldn't come with all seasons but this is just ridiculous. If these PZeros suck this bad (and I know they say X temp and obviously everyone has to be careful driving) then Ford should offer a all season tire.

I mean I don't think it's the rain as much as it's the temperature mixed with the rain.

And these summer tires sure aren't helping the cause.

I'm glad I'm getting the all seasons...but now Im thinking about looking for a better all season then Pirelli Neros.
