FR3E-9S455-HB is molded in or is on a label in/on the intake manifold correct? This is the engineering part number (the "E" in FR3E). FR3Z-9424-N is the service part number.
if I remember correctly, it’s on a white sticker inside the manifold

Do the vacuum hose differences prevent it from being installed in this current application / situation?
I've never seen any differences in the 2nd gen manifolds.

You are over thinking it.

I know this doesn’t help much, but I just don’t remember. When installing PP3, for the 15-16s, something had to be blocked off or altered to fit the GT350IM, but that wasn’t the case for the 17. I would call Ford Perdormance and ask them what the difference is between a 16 and 17 for installing Power Pack 3. It may be nothing you have to worry about, but could be something that accounts for the difference in part number.

On the 15 and 16 factory CAI or intake tube there are 4 vacuum ports, on the 17 there is only 3. Has nothing to do with the intake manifold itself.

At least this is what I remember.

That’s probably it

The only thing that can get a bit tricky for the novice is the brake booster connection and the aspirator valve connection.
The FP pdf explains everything. I decided to purchase the OEM GT350 brake booster line to tidy up the routing to match the OEM.

And this; only because I lose sleep over wiring pulled a bit to much and without a service loop.

Helping a friend here who has a 2017 Mustang GT with a cracked intake manifold. The OEM part (FR3Z-9424-N) is backordered everywhere we've looked with no ETA.

I understand the 2018+ manifold (which seems to be more readily in stock and not much more expensive) can be installed, however there are some reservations on that front:

It seems that a tune will be needed to run it, but we'd like to avoid that to help on costs. I've also seen some kits that include an evap relocation and 2018+ brake booster line assembly - we're unclear as to whether that's needed or not. There's also the IMRC adapter harness but that extra expense isn't a big deal.

Essentially, with the OEM part number being unavailable, what's the most cost-efficient way to get his car back on the road?
I’m doing a hot rod swap boss 302 manifold. If the stock 17 manifold is available I’ll let you know
