The BOSS LS has been known to beat the GT 500 on a course or two, with a HUGE power-to-weight disadvantage. RIGHT? What's so dishonest about a Z/28, as equipped, outrunning a ZL1?! Their power-to-weight is within a 1/2 pound per horse. The GT 500 is over 3 lb/hp LESS. Shows just how damned difficult the GT 500 is to drive near 10/10ths, that's all. Even Pobst suggested THAT!
What is the official sanctioning body for Mulholland Drive? THAT'S the "rules" the Z/28 plays by. It has a VIN, is EPA-compliant, is road-insurable. And the track is this-a-way.
HPDE events don't care about CC brakes, or 7.0L engines, or 7.60 lb/hp. "Pay your fees, have your fun, wear a helmet, do up the belts, and go at it!" Preferably with a perma-grin.
Got it?
BTW, all would be forgotten of GM's unsavory acts if Oppie's design was utilized...REALLY?!
Good night. And good luck.
