Considering it will probably wear the SVT badge I doubt that is all they will do. Even though as I understand it SVT pretty much engineered the GT350 for Team Mustang, they are gonna have more pride than just supercharging it and calling it a day if it bears their name.
It's anyones guess. One thing for sure if that car is another variant they will not be showing it anytime soon. They'll let the 350 bask in the glory for a bit longer.
Thanks!
Well that's definitely not happening :)
But i'll take a 350R reveal any day. I remember people dropping some hints that there is more than one car discussed in those videos so who knows. Also dont' want to get anyone hopes up.
Ford put on twitter that there are going to be some awesome "reveals" (plural) using the #Mustang and #GT350 hashtags... I could be reading too much into it but any possibility a 350R shows up?
It's not just about the footprint and number of doors. the strength demands of the chassis are world's apart in a sports car that for all intents and purposes is meant to support all of the hipo variants to come. Ford is on record saying they added a lot of additional bracing to the front...
@22mins....
Dave does talk about a little about the new subframe up front and torsional rigidity greatly improved with the new chassis, additional bracing up front etc.
The point is there are people who will buy a GT that would actually prefer the body colored diffuser. More customization choices are better and I can't imagine this adding a big cost.
I'd say that's about 90% there. There's probably a clay model somewhere in Dearborn called the Bruce Jenner (what's a modern day equivalent?) that looks exactly like that.
I won't make a final decision until I get to sit in one but I am leaning yes. I can't see myself getting a 2014 after this but I would be interested in seeing how Chevy reacts. No doubt something must be in the works already.
2015 Mustang not in the "rest of the world" for next year?
I was thinking maybe the S550 production delay until Sept that we keep hearing about was to align the European launches with the US one.
I could see right hand drive being a little later but I can't think of any big reasons...
Agreed. This is what happens when you try to be the front runner of the official pics. I bet this and the video screen capture are all from the media previews they gave. AW is lucky they are so big Ford will think before blacklisting them. Everything in that article reads like it was meant to be...
We didn't get a ton of good spy photos but I still enjoyed checking for them every day on this site.
I also watched these last videos multiple times each thinking I must have missed something.... so I guess it worked Ford :p
That is basically what the GT500 would look like if the cobra was centered. Floating.
If the S550 gets an evolution of the GT500 grille and the pony is centered like the spy pics show it should look like it's floating also.
Well the Mustang better be pick up its sales then. Mazda6 was ended at FRAP because it fell way short of the 100k units/yr target to make it profitable. I think they were building only like 40k or so units. I believe the Fusion supplemental production at FRAP is also adding about 100k units on a...
Shocked thePill hasn't posted this here yet.
Shelby GT500 laps NĂĽrburgring in under 7:40?
A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the NĂĽrburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap...
The base and GT engines are basically unchanged then... Any word on when we can expect more significant changes (direct injection etc) or a bigger power bump?
Hoping before the first refresh?
