Hate to break it to you, but there is no way a non-tuned EB is getting away from an LS1 car. It's just not happening.
this. My old cobra would be tire to tire with a decently modified/tuned LS1 car, and I KNOW I'd yank ecoboosts all day without trying.

Mine made around 240hp to the wheels and weighed around 3,600lbs. I owned a 2000 and a 2001. Ditched the 2001 when a bone stock 2005 GT with a auto pulled me by a car length.....
So it was your slow ass beat car the OP rolled on.:D

Way too many sources would disagree about weight and power...

And way too many variables about dynos. Or maybe you had a dog. Were not SAE certified back then. I never saw them get close to 12s stock but did see mid 13s at Atco in the late 90s when I used to run my 94 GT. It took heads, intake, cam, exhaust and supporting parts to be even/beat them. In the late 90s they had GTs and Cobras alike beat.

There was a time when the "Motor touched by the hand of god" Was unbeatable.:D Now a lowly Ford 4 banger with a tune and a downpipe will probably give em all they can handle.:headbang:

A 2002 Camaro and a EcoBoost Mustang are pretty evenly matched. They both weight approximately the same, they both are rated at 310HP, the Camaro has a slight peak torque rating of 340 ve the EBs 320.

I would say it's a drivers race everytime.
They're nearly 250lbs apart, and the LS1 is underrated. It probably makes 310 at the wheels. They're not far off of a stock 5.0's performance.

Good kill Sith, just don't expect these results all the time. A stock SS is capable of high 12's with a decent driver.

:lol:Minus about 6mph in the qtr or less.
FIFY.

Also, what? I never mentioned trap speed. They are capable of high 12's, which is in a stock 5.0 territory. That's a fact. Yes the 5.0 traps a good bit better, but most people would consider a 0-110 run a fair display of a car's acceleration. Unless the OP took their run in speeds excess of 115mph what I said is correct, he might as well have been trying to race a stock 5.0.

A 02' SS is lighter and has more hp. I'm not sure why people are even discussing this.

5.0s are capable of mid 12s. U r comparing best times to average times. A coyote mustang is a good half second and 5 mph quicker across the board.

The best u will ever see from a stock ls1 in rare cases is around 12.8-9 and traps as high as 107-109. Coyote ~12.4 and up to around ~114.

No, not across the board. 1/8th mile times are much closer, with trap speeds for both cars (stock, of course) being in the mid 80's. So a run form 0-85/90 will get you very similar results. Unless you're going into the triple digits from a dig run you're not going to see the 5.0 be significantly faster than an older SS.

The OP said he pulled on the SS from the dig. So from 0-85/90, he might as well have been running against a 5.0. Not saying it didn't happen, just saying don't expect those results often.

310 is a far cry from the 375s-385s the 15 coyotes put down.

Likewise, 3700lbs is far heavier than 3300lbs. A 5.0 has a slight power to weight ratio advantage, but its not much. One mod, like an exhaust, and its essentially even.

What I said is true, in this setting he may as well have been racing a 5.0. Sure, the 5.0 stock for stock is a little faster, but its close enough for a comparison. Just like he shouldn't expect to pull from a dig on a 5.0, he shouldn't expect to do it against an 02 SS.

Im aware of the weight difference. Which is why I mentioned nothing about weight. I was speaking power only. Which its a far cry from the 5.0 in that aspect. My only slight disagreement with what you said is 5.0s trap mid 80s. They trap from mid 80s to high 80s in the 1/8th stock. But yes might as well been racing a 5.0.

A 2002 Camaro SS was 3411 pounds and a 2015 Ecoboost comes in at 3524. Since the Camaro has a small HP and decent TQ advantage the Camaro should win by a couple tenths. I swear the LS faithful give that sucker more power and less weight every year.

it depends on model options and how much gas is in it, but they are usually always heavier then 3300lbs I agree. But they are still trapping faster then a stock EB. 3400-3500 seemed pretty std for Camaros.
