Stock vs stock:
The Type R will take the Ecoboost mustang.
Idk about modded too many variables but That K20C1 is no joke

Now if its a Coyote different story.

Incorrect.

The ‘18 Ecoboost automatic is faster 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile.

The Ford makes crazy torque.

I was going by caranddriver

The Type R is .2 seconds faster in the quarter mile, and faster 0-60

There is a 5mph difference in trap speed. I don't think the EB will be faster than the R.

Yep. You’re right. The R is slightly faster.
That’ll teach me to be so dogmatic. LOL

THe R has. Much weaker engine, but its light weight is big benefit.

I was going by tis for ecoboost:

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a19862434/2018-ford-mustang-23l-ecoboost-manual-test-review/

And this for the Honda, which posted a slower time:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mo...da-civic-type-r-long-term-arrival-review/amp/

But the GT results are off. It’s an 11 second car, capable of 3.8 0-60. Perhaps car and driver couldn’t pull it off, but this article seems to say it’s any easy feat for 18+ GT:

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/drag-testing-the-2018-ford-mustang-gt/

And Hot Rod is GM biased.

Even in your stuff you posted the civic ran faster mph and lower ET than the EB.

Brother man, you have to research the time attack lap times. http://www.grid.life/track-records/

Some of the track records are held by FWD, yes front wheel drive. They start of with a sub 3000lb car, probably weighing in around 2500/2600lbs. Gut that car, add power and down force and you have a machine that is putting down 300-400+hp weighing 1000lbs less than an equally prepped mustang. Power isnt everything, and time attack is 1 car doing X amount of laps trying to achieve the fastest time. The FWD cars are putting down faster lap times in tracks like road atlanta, mid ohio.
So, really FWD is superior, right? You should build a FWD F1 car and beat all those silly teams that think RWD works better.

Yes if you compare a super light FWD car with aero and power adders to a stock, heavier car the FWD can be quicker. But all else equal, FWD is not the best layout for performance on the road course. It's a good layout for 0-30 on the street, though.

Or an ACCEPTABLE layout for a light car.

Put the ecoboost at the same weight and it goes like a GT.

Yes, very true.

High end 1/4 mile racers all use RWD as well. FWD's main advantage is being simple and cheap to produce. It's not the "best" layout for any type of performance driving. If FWD competes well in some kind of racing, it's only because the sanctioning body has set up the rules so that it will compete, not because there's anything inherently good about a FWD layout for high performance.

It'll go better. It'll have better weight distribution.

Maybe part throttle racing could decide the true winner. Give me the type R any day it is more unique and rare everyone has a dang Mustang which is a really bad thing :)
Surely you realize there are more civics on the road than Mustangs.

So that argument isn’t one you should run with.

Everyone has a dang civic.

If the issue is rarity, get a GT PP2 and enjoy the rarified air while laughing at fart can civics trying to rev at you.

I like Hondas and the Type R is a very nice car- except for yes, that crazy wing. Hondas are bullet proof reliable- I have owned many and never once had they made funny sounds or had any defects. No I would not buy one today- way over priced with ADM. I bought a new base GT instead for over 10K cheaper than I could get a type R. Now if a type R was available for 30-35K and lost the wing it might be a different story. To compare the price of a Type R at 45K, you can get a well equipped Mustang with PP options that would beat it in every category.

You must have been lucky with the Hondas you bought. The one I owned was broken more than it ran. And nothing was easy to fix on it, either. I will never own another.

My bad should have mentioned I was in a manual PP on all seasons. I’m under the assumption my stage 1 Cobb 18 would lose in a drag and maybe win in a roll. If I was on pilot super sport 3’s or some version is pilot super sports I’d have better chances. Prettt sure the type R comes with summer tires. I suppose it could be a drivers race in both situations. I’d say they are comparable cars and a fair line up. From what I’ve seen the type R and what Honda has done managing the torque steer and wheel hop is pretty well managed.
If you're not racing for slips, you got nothing to worry about. Have fun with it.

Don't forget the fact that Hector is gonna be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. On top of that, he just came into Harry's and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS and a Motec system exhaust.

We have a Type-R here at our shop, and an EB mustang. The R is so precise around a corner, something the EB lacks.
What do you mean by precise? Are you saying the tires are stickier?
