For those of you who have upgraded... I was curious if 3.4 seemed to slow down your touch screens. I saw a demo of a guy who upgraded his 2016, and it did seem to have some considerable lag.

My car is a 2018, but knowing ford, I'm guessing those probably run the same exact hardware. If its going to slow it down considerably, maybe I'll just leave it with the latest 3.3.

Mine is a 2019 with Nav I upgraded to 3.4. I haven't noticed a slowdown.

I upgraded my Wife's 2017 Explorer with Nav to 3.4. It may be a touch slower, but if so, not enough to cause me any concern.

I can confirm downgrading from 19274 ---> 19200

Then reformat tool ---> 20021

Worked perfectly in my 16.
You're a nav unit correct?

Im a 2016 Non Nav unit and the lag goes away quickly, I assume its from a fresh install and the ui hasnt been cached into ram yet. The biggest difference that if I remember correctly was that the 18+ units have more storage space and used different size partitions.

If on youtube, might have been my video. Yes there's some lag, especially when you first install it. After awhile (and a master reset which I recommend) it's very close to the original firmware.

Good morning everyone, approximate clicking on the thread. Has anyone updated from Sync 3.0 to 3.4 using this method?
Link Below
https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/update-ford-sync-3-2-2-3-0-to-version-3-4-all-years-3-4-19200/
Timeline for me:
12/15
Took delivery of 2016 Base GT350 w/SYNC (4" screen)
05/16 Complete Hardware upgrade from SYNC to SYNC3 (8" screen, Bezel, APIM, ACM, Plug & Play Harness) setup for: NAV/SAT/HD Radio
06/17 Upgraded SYNC3 software, Installed new Media Hub (HU5Z-19A387-A)
09/17 Consumer SYNC3 Software upgrade ---> 3.2 Build 18241
08/18 Consumer SYNC3 Software Upgrade ---> 3.2 Build 18305
01/20 Cyanlab upgrade: Reformat Tool ---> 3.4 Build 19101
02/20 Cyanlab upgrade: 3.4 Build 19101 ---> 3.4 Build 19274
03/20 Cyanlab upgrade/downgrade: 3.4 Build 19274 ---> 3.4 Build 19101 ---> Reformat Tool ---> 3.4 Build 20021

All cyanlab upgrades were totally successful

*NOTE: A lot of useful information can be obtained by entering the 'Bezel Diagnostics' Mode
On my system I press:
Steering Wheel SEEK UP and Bezel SEEK UP buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to enter 'Bezel Diagnostics' Mode

FYI a lot of those updates are being provided with wrong voice packs. Not sure if they've found / fixed their errors yet, though I still saw invalid combos last I checked.

Instead of being almighty about it why not offer some corrections? afaik they all have the correct voice packs.

I did the update on my 16 F150 and my 17 GT350. Worked great, no issues. The 3.4 is very nice IMO. Has a lot of things not in the 3.0 version. Thumbs up to Cyanlabs bringing this to the community.

No big secret. You can verify on any production car with the software. For example, most regions follow:

19101 --> *391-xE
19200 --> *391-xH
19274 --> *391-xK

The voice components live in the two packages, so they should be in sync.

The latest info on the cyanlabs web page states the current 3.4 update comes with F9 maps. What are they?

The maps in my car is listed as "NA 1 18", the previous ones were "NA 1 15".

Has anyone seen a problem with the 20021 version where songs on a USB drive cannot be advanced with steering wheel controls? It was mentioned on the F150 forum as well as an issue after the vehicle is started where the USB music resumes but the display doesn't match.
