If the ZLE can stop 3 feet shorter in one 60-0, make that for 100 curves over 25 minute session. Then whats that.....300 feet. That is a win.or GM's ABS programming is better. Or maybe the ZL1 carries it's weight a little bit different under maximum braking efforts that it eeks out a small efficiency advantage. Or maybe, just maybe the ZL1 is lighter by approx 200lbs?
Why is this so important over a couple of feet? I know it's January and all but come on.
Well, there are several accounts of the ZLE brakes feeling "long" and "spongy" after several laps....so there's that.If the ZLE can stop 3 feet shorter in one 60-0, make that for 100 curves over 25 minute session. Then whats that.....300 feet. That is a win.
Of course the next statement you somehow left out..... "Even so, few cars feel as stable while braking in corners as the 1LE. "Well, there are several accounts of the ZLE brakes feeling "long" and "spongy" after several laps....so there's that.
Here's one example...
" It was the iron-rotor brakes, which carry over from the regular ZL1, and not the tires that kept us from turning more than five hot laps at a time; the pedal gets a little long on the fifth lap."

Right...for 5 laps until brake fade hit. No need to include that information when I was explicitly quoting for brake fade, not pre brake fade "feel".Of course the next statement you somehow left out..... "Even so, few cars feel as stable while braking in corners as the 1LE. "
But yet you quoted "feel"..... ZLE brakes feeling "long" and "spongy"Right...for 5 laps until brake fade hit. No need to include that information when I was explicitly quoting for brake fade, not pre brake fade "feel".
Yes...due to brake fade which was documented in the article. The ZLE's brakes feel amazing....for 5 laps until fade hits. Again, this is documented. But yet you quoted "feel"..... ZLE brakes feeling "long" and "spongy"
So then you think MT is GM biased or Ford biased?Right...for 5 laps until brake fade hit. No need to include that information when I was explicitly quoting for brake fade, not pre brake fade "feel".
The GT500 needs bigger brakes to bring down all of that extra weight. The ZLE gets by with smaller brakes because it is not as heavy. So it can stop shorterYes...due to brake fade which was documented in the article. The ZLE's brakes feel amazing....for 5 laps until fade hits. Again, this is documented.
And you still don't understand how all of this relates to the advantage the GT500 carries with it's larger rotors and pads.
You really aren't that stupid are you?The GT500 needs bigger brakes to bring down all of that extra weight
Again with the insults when someone else is right and you don't have a leg to stand on and your argument is all wetYou really aren't that stupid are you?
We'll, either you really are stupid, or you are just so bull headed that you refuse to see an opposing point of view that is accurate....which is ignorance.Again with the insults when someone else is right and you don't have a leg to stand on and your argument is all wet
The Miata can stop 60-0 in 108 feet. It has small 4 piston brakes. It does not need huge 16.5 inch brakes because of less weight. I don't see why you can't get that in your head. Bigger car bigger brakes. Smaller car smaller brakes. We'll, either you really are stupid, or you are just so bull headed that you refuse to see an opposing point of view that is accurate....which is ignorance.
So which one is it?
Ok, you really donāt get it. That explains things. The Miata can stop 60-0 in 108 feet. It has small 4 piston brakes. It does not need huge 16.5 inch brakes because of less weight. I don't see why you can't get that in your head. Bigger car bigger brakes. Smaller car smaller brakes.
The Miata is the most modified and raced car in the world. Not much can touch a Flyin' Miata with the LSCan you imagine how fast a big brake Miata would stop though? It would probably overwhelm the tires. Which would lead to a body kit and wider tires. Then the rolling resistance needs to be overcome. That's when the LS swap goes in. Before you know it, this guy us passing everything. Well that settles it. Miata is the best track car.![]()
