Going to take my sleeper kit 19 to the track tomorrow and was curious how the auto guys are doing their burnout. I have heard 2nd gear is the best option to really get the tires warm. Do you sport mode to 2nd and start burnout or leave in drive and let the car change to 2nd on its own?

Also, anyone have decent luck with nitto nt05r drag radials hooking up? I have 305-35-19 on the rear.

I use the line lock. Put in sport. Start burnout. Paddle 2nd. Release line lock and continue burnout a few feet to assure no water on the tires

    Here’s how I do it.
    1) Roll rear wheels through the water. Don’t spin in the water it will coat your wheel wells and drip on the tires during your run.
    2) Select D, Drag mode, and disable advance track.
    3) Use line lock.
    4) Spin em until smoke appears in side view mirrors. I like ~30MPH.
    5) Push OK to cancel line lock and let em chirp.

    Cheers,

I assume you hold the brake down during the linelock right? When you press OK I assume you have to let of the brake to "roll out"? Or do you let off the brake after it tells you to "Press Brake Down Firmly"?

You release the brake pedal when the initialization completes. That way you don’t burn up the rear brake pads. Pressing OK during the burnout unlocks the front brakes and lets the car roll out.

    Cheers,

Thanks, that's probably why I haven't been rolling out quite right!

Wish the line lock was a one button and use affair. It takes too long to really use at the track if the lanes are busy.

It does take a little time, but I’ve gotten to the point where I say F em and let them wait.

After a little practice the factory line lock works really great.

I was so focused on getting the line lock working, I forgot to hit start on my nGauge to log. The line lock worked well though.

Yes. I did the Baers front & rear as well. I had to get them seasoned/bedded for it to hold. Now it works great. She’ll love it!

Unless you have $1000 drag brakes. Then not really a good idea
