What's the Boot time: 20 - 25 seconds (You can set the unit to stay on for a period of time after you shut off, so if you stop to get gas you dont have to wait for boot. I think you can actually set it to never shut off im sure that would kill your battery after a few days)

Does Spotify get along when installed on the unit? (Not streaming BT): Dont use spotify, what do you mean by get along?

Some apps don't like being forced into landscape mode.

Anything that doesn't belong? (Celsius vs Fahrenheit, Time Zone issues): Outside time is in C, the overlay that pops up when you change the climate settings is also in C

Outside temp? (I don't think time can be measured in Celsius lol) If I had a unit here, I could possibly fix this.

Do phone calls work through the unit, if so can the caller hear you clearly?: Need to test, I connected the microphone provided but its under the dash.

So, there's a mic on the face of it, and an external mic? I make constant hands free calls daily, so this is important to me that it works.

Can the Voice Command button be mapped to anything like Google Voice?: I Cant remap steering wheel buttons, the software is there but it doesnt work. I can remap the buttons next to the screen.

So the option is there to remap the SWC's, but it doesn't change anything? Remapping the ones next to the screen may suffice.


Also, has anyone rooted theirs yet? Is this a Rockchip processor? Can someone run this app (or similar) and send me the results so I can see what all the hardware is?

However, keep in mind Patrick that firestarter2 is in a GT350...wheel controls are little different I believe.

Correct is possible thats why I cant remap the steering wheel controls but I dont think so.

The software to remap the buttons is the same as the steering wheel so I should be able to clear the presets but I cant.

Correct the app the do the SWC doesnt work. It literally does nothing makes me think it has to be unlocked some how.

The App to remap the buttons is in a hidden menu so I know how the SWC app should work.

Well, it looks like we're at $395 shipped in bulk to me, then roughly $30 to ship CONUS insured. That puts it at $425 if they come to me first. I can have them shipped directly to everyone for $415 with a minimum of 5 units.

Unfortunately I'd have to personally sit out on the first group buy, I just can't swing the funds to order one with what I've got going on, so that would limit how much support I can offer. Once I order a unit, I am going to Root it and come up with a recovery ROM, which is one thing we never had with the Tesla. The manufacturer of this unit is MUCH more communicative than the dude I dealt with on the Tesla, and everyone would have a 1 year warranty on all parts. The caveat is, until I have more rapport, he's not budging on the price of $395.

Full disclosure: I am not gaining a single penny from this. I just think it's a cool alternative to stock, and I love changing things. Once I can order one for myself, I'm sure we'll make a lot of cool changes, including the Celsius, Zoomed camera issue, and other little tweaks!

Some notes/thoughts on the hardware... The processor is the same one used on the "Nintendo NES Classic" system that was recently reissued...
