Yeah im worried the reverse camera line is actually to power a camera not to ground it. I will look at the reverse camera it self I might have to ground it manually perhaps stock its grounded by the radio.

That harness I dont see any where to connect the female side. It doesnt go to the unit it self
The backup camera is already powered, I was suggesting grounding that black cable to the chassis.

Also, have you tried the reset?

1) open driver's door
2) disconnect the battery
3) wait 5min
4) connect the battery back
5) drive for 5 miles with minimal steering

I read a few threads where the backup camera does this with the factory radio if the camera is disconnected, especially without the battery disconnected. The dealer had to flash it, but that likely won't help if the unit is controlling the camera now.

In the picture you posted (which I can't see now on my work computer) I thought there was a black cable with a crescent terminal on it?
That's the unused harness. I don't even know where to connect that.

There is a pink reverse camera line on the stock harness

Recovery Method 2: Attach a USB keyboard. Hold "Alt" key AND "Print Screen". While holding, keep tapping "i". When the system restarts, it should trigger a restart in recovery mode.

Works!

From XDA use at your own risk. You can brick your unit. I am going to try to pull the image off mine so it can be flashed back in the case of an emergency

My versions
v7.3.1_20170322.110946_TW2
MCU 5.3.19-23-41-e43101-170210

Extra settings code: 123456
Developer options code: 7890
enable USB debugging: john@tw-desktop

Remapped one of my hardware buttons to launch Google Maps instead of Ejecting a DVD.

Seller said the zoomed camera in reverse a software bug and they would send a fix. I suspect thats a stalling tactic though.

Ebay vendor said the software update to fix the camera will take 1 to 2 months. I think its just a stall but we will see.

I keep loosing the volume controls on the steering wheel I suspect it is a loose wire(installation issue on my part)

I don't own one, but through my shopping around these match up with the best I have found on eBay. The listing had Android 6.0 listed.

I'll have to go to my phone to check the eBay listings, but $395 + $75 shipping... $470 is still much cheaper than the Tesla can be had. I got the Tesla guy down to $525 from $700, so I should be able to do some work on this unit.
My only concern is that it might not be true Android 6.01 (but I hope it is)
firestarter2 I understand it shows 6.01 under system settings, but have you done the Animation process to confirm? (You keep tapping Software version repeatedly until the animation pops up on the screen to show the actual version)
