The biggest question is turbo size/potential. Thats really the big what if for this car.
^This right here. I'm more interested in knowing when the stock turbo hits the point of just blowing hot air, and how easy it is going to be to get a bigger snail on the car.

Whatever is done to the "eb" this thing is a game changer. The high performance mustang shops are going to have a field day. Just think of all the performance places that usually just cater to the v8's, now they will have a 4cyl category on their website. I doubt they will diss this thing!

Does the ecoboost have an intercooler? air-to-air, air-to-water?
Air-to-Air

I've gotten confirmations from about 10 top brand companies that are expecting an EB in a month or less and will start R&D soon.

Tuning voids the warranty unless its through ford-racing or an aftermarket powertrain warranty is provided, that is the only downside.

You can equally tune a 5.0 and get power gains (even if they arent as much as increasing boost)

Nothing voids the warranty.

Unless you drive into a lake that is.

Hey, SLVRBACK, thanks for the info.
Do you know how/where the ic is mounted ?
Will a downpipe be possible ? I know its
early, but often this is where most of the
exhaust restriction occurs.

It will likely utilize a front mount intercooler like the ST's, with it being mounted low in the lower opening. Putting a downpipe on this car will be a breeze based on what I've seen for engine bay pictures. I don't think it's going to net as big of gains as it normally does on FWD turbos. FWD turbos have horridly shaped downpipes and the cats are normally very close to the turbine outlet. This is why you see big gains with the downpipes on these cars. Opening up the restrictions on the exhaust in the way of the center resonator and some mufflers should do well. As long as all the pipes are of appropriate size.

The FMIC on the S550T is located under the radiator and looks to be one of the first things we will concentrate on. The down pipe shows no immediate signs of being inadequate, but we will find out as parts are developed and tested.

How much room do you guys have to work with for a FMIC, more than the ST?

Hows the turbo size?

I'd think with a free flowing intake, exhaust, intercooler and remap you should be looking at the best part of 400bhp. At least 370bhp anyway. A remap should see 350bhp.

While there is plenty of room, we have yet to determine the route we want to go at this time. We want to create something that increases performance for all trim levels of the S550T without inhibiting airflow or cooling capacity. Since you can order the vehicle with an upgraded radiator, we want to ensure our FMIC will fit the base model, the premium, and the performance pack optioned vehicles if possible.

The turbo is adequately sized, but for most of us, this is never quite big enough! We've got some pretty cool ideas for this car and are looking to be the leaders for the platform much like our Focus ST and Fiesta ST communities.

Thank you! We're putting together an official introduction which will be posted in the near future. But I couldn't wait for that and wanted to start answering questions and getting to know you guys ahead of time. As you know we are extremely passionate about our products and have a very open relationship with our customers.

While I'd love to speculate, we won't know until we start pushing the limits at each stage of our performance upgrade path. We'll determine the most cost effective path and break them into multiple stages so you can enjoy the car at multiple power levels and more importantly multiple budget levels!

My personal fairy tale goal is to try and make stock Mustang GT power levels with full bolt on parts, then shatter those levels with an upgraded turbo. I think it'll be an interesting journey for sure!

Cheers,
