What mods do you have?
Performance mods are -

K+N drop in filter
Airaid tube
MAP intercooler
CVF charge pipes
NGK plugs from Tune +
Turbosmart 10# WGA
MBRP 3" catted downpipe
Cobb Accessport with tuning done by Ryan at PD.

The 4.6 run was after a few revisions. We’re almost done with the engine tune. Moving to the transmission after that.

Another test run, much better results this time! This was just one run, so maybe I could do better even?

0-30: 2.3
0-60: 5.5

I ran another one tonight - another 6.0 in Drag mode, shifter in "D". A number of the local 5.0 guys claimed that their fastest times came with in "D", so i'm going to see if that makes a real difference. After running a string of 6.1's, seeing 6.0's seems like it might be real. I'm still hanging on to that extra half a second, though...

I've tested some more today, this time in Sport + Drag Mode! Even better times! A little tire spin this time. Will be interesting the more runs I try!

I think my car must be broken... Or I haven't found the 400# of lead hidden in the car...

No passengers in the car right? Just making sure!
Also, not sure how huge of a difference it makes, but I do have the Performance Pack on mine. I think I launched somewhere around 1300rpm, can't remember 100%.

Anything else you've been trying?
Like some people were telling me, the altitude and elevation plays a big role too.

Mine's a PP as well, and I have been playing with launch RPM's in the 1200-1500 range. It seems like it tolerates 1500 OK, not much if any wheel spin. Healthy chirps on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are the norm. Sometimes it chirps 3-4, but that's rare. It sure seems like it's making decent power, but the numbers just aren't there. Elevation where I 'test" is 530 feet, temps from the 60's to 80's, and just my 220# ballast in the car.

Okay, interesting..
So we both have PP, launching around the same RPM and we are about the same elevation and temp range. Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but are you using premium fuel too? If I think of anything else, I'll for sure let you know though!

Honestly though, I know its tough, but in the long run...are you enjoying driving it? Regardless of the seconds or half seconds, the car is just plain amazing and fun to drive. Sure, a GT would be nice, but there can always be something nicer.

Look at the bright side I guess, you are getting "normalish" numbers in a beautiful looking car. I'm pretty sure you will still be beating most cars at a signal take off !

I wonder if having a PP car has anything to do with it? Last month I posted that I was thinking about replacing my 3.15 gears with 3.55s. A few people commented that the 3.15 is faster to 60 because the car doesn't have to shift to 4th. I just took a look at one of my data logs. it shows 5550 RPMs in 3rd when the car hit 60. If I do make the swap, it would be to make the car more responsive all around and to improve 1/4 mile times.

Always a diet of 93 octane from day one.

Realistically, half a second isn’t THAT big a deal, but it indicates that I’m either leaving power on the table somewhere or significantly heavier than other similar cars. Could also be an error in track apps... I need to see if I can QC those results somehow.

As for the car, it’s easily the nicest car I’ve ever had, and it’s a treat to drive every day. I have toy cars that are also fun, but nowhere the all around performer this car is.

Most likely an atmosphere issue. Heat, humidity and air density all affect 0-60. Best I could do pre intercooler was a 6.3 though I only attempted in temps over 80° perhaps it would have been better had I tried when it was 55 outside?

Hmmm. Humidity we have - certainly more than PHX... 50-90% here, and I haven't paid attention to that at all. Well, now I have something else to add to the list...

I have one - it arrived on Wednesday after bouncing around in the Fed Ex system for way too long. I'm going to get it installed sometime this summer, if things settle down for a while. I'm going to try to get it dyno'd with the original IC just to see if the benefits of the new one can be quantified.
