Map is considering it, not working on it....

wrong and wrongMAP is working on one also. Stainless Works has one available now.
You can monitor AFRs with the gauge mode on the dash. The factory tune is pig ass rich under WOT.I think if you start swapping parts and not monitoring AFR's and timing, you're asking for trouble without a tune. I've seen turbo cars do some pretty weird shit in the stock tune when you start messing with intercoolers and downpipes. Like pulling a ton of timing because it goes 13:1 or 14:1 at WOT. Just asking for a pop sometimes.
We thought the same thing on genesis coupe turbo motors, that also used map sensor, and what I described happening is exactly what happened with an exhaust and bigger fmic. Until I see a good dyno of an ecoboost with these mods, on a stock tune I wouldn't try it without knowing for sure.MAP has sold one catted downpipe; the others have been catless. They have the jigs, etc., to produce them, but from what I understood, they seem to be built on an as-needed basis.

Once again, weird stuff happening on turbo cars is usually associated on cars with a MAF sensor. We don't have those worries with the EcoBoost engines.

Right, but it can lean out really quick. I've seen this happen on the dyno several different times, just not yet specifically with the ecoboost. So I'll reserve judgement until then, but just a warning. Plus, by the time you see it on the tiny afr gauge in the dash, it'll be too late. Usually you're not watching the afr gauge when you're WOT on the road. You can monitor AFRs with the gauge mode on the dash. The factory tune is pig ass rich under WOT.
I can sip a cup of tea and eat a scone while under WOT in this car. It is not like I am holding on for dear life with the enormous rush of speed. LOL.Right, but it can lean out really quick. LOL! Sorry, I'm used to my boosted cars being borderline terrifying under boost. I'll be interested when people start posting dyno's with bolt on's without tunes to see what the afr's look like.I can sip a cup of tea and eat a scone while under WOT in this car. A couple of bolt ons are not going to be as great a risk to the engine as a tune. Most of the bolt ons are more noisemaker than power producer anyway.

I have had those mods on an EcoBoost with no bad results. Given it wasn't my Mustang, but it was the 2.0EB found in the Fusion/FoST from which the 2.3EB is based. Ford has designed a very complex ECU that's capable of handling just about everything you'd throw at it.We thought the same thing on genesis coupe turbo motors, that also used map sensor, and what I described happening is exactly what happened with an exhaust and bigger fmic. Yeah, me too. My other turbo cars are 8 second cars.LOL! Sorry, I'm used to my boosted cars being borderline terrifying under boost. I'll be interested when people start posting dyno's with bolt on's without tunes to see what the afr's look like.
For this platform, I don't know. On pump gas I don't really like to see AFRs leaner than mid 11's on my LS powered stuff. I will push the AFR harder on C16. I have seen AFRs in the 9's on the stock tune with this car. I would be dieseling like a Cummins on my other cars on AFRs that rich. I guess the DI has a different range of tolerance. So, what's the danger zone under WOT for AFR?
For the tuning I've done, on pump gas I never like seeing leaner than 11.5:1, maybe 12:1 while I'm lean spooling, but otherwise I like to pin it to 11:1 because the little difference in fuel gives a safety gap and doesn't give much more power. So, what's the danger zone under WOT for AFR?
Jeez, pig rich for sure, I didn't realize it was to that extent. 9:1 is usually the richest a wideband will report so it could be even richer than that.Yeah, me too. My other turbo cars are 8 second cars.

You'd normally want to stay lower 11s with these cars and run them a little more on the rich side. It helps control combustion temps a great deal with these engines. The EcoBoosts won't last long under higher AFRs, like 12.0+.Yeah, me too. My other turbo cars are 8 second cars.
