Saw this in your build thread, you removed the hood liner completely? With that the heat shield longer sealing out most of the air as there will be a gap.

So yes your IAT's would be higher, while any info is good info it'd be nice of you to include that in your reasoning.

IAT's will be higher with the JLT intakes yes, as we use a open style heat shield that isn't sealed like the stock box. With the stock box you're limited on filter surface area and are only getting fed air from the factory duct. It's one of those, the pro's outweigh the cons.

Here's a video we did a few days ago of driving with box the stock box and JLT. in near 100 degree temps. The video is shaky unfortunately, we'll do another one with a solid mount camera, need to rig it up.

That is the whole reason your temps are so much higher than we have seen.

Why would you not give us all the info? :shrug: That's a VERY important part of your issue.

1) Because I saw the same issue with the liner on as it didn't seal then either.
2) On the advice of my tuner that saw the same issue with JLT vs Airaid on their car.
3) Other '15 owners who have seen the same issue.

1)The sealing to the hood is the exact reason your temps are high SMH
2) Tuner advised because your temps were ridiculous and is grasping at straws
3) Others also posted temps more inline with what we see.

Not giving this important bit of info is not fair to JLT, period.

As I said mine seals to hoodliner . Adam at rev auto has the JLT on his 15 so I copied his mods. I figured he knows what works

Mine actually worried me because the seal pushed the liner very hard at first. I have an outline of the box on it now

Also, switching to Airaid? What gains to do you expect with a box that emulates the factory MAF housing and doesn't switch out the MAF sensor? You might as well keep the stock intake on and save your money. Also, there is a reason that most of the vendors sell Airaids, but run JLTs (for their NA cars).

How did you test/confirm whether it was sealing or not?

I don't ever get ambient temps anywhere near 90+, but the last few posts here about the jlt sealing or not sealing against the liner made me curious.

I definitely saw indents in the hood liner, but wanted see how well it was actually sealing. How does one tell for sure? Simple, chalk.

Of course there are spots where there is no rubber, but where ever there is rubber, it looks like it completely seals to me.

I inverted the color one of the hood images to better show the chalk marks?

Thanks and that liner is pretty thick, so you can expect 1/2"-1" gap without the liner = heat to the filter.

We have tested this over and over every year. 2011 5.0, Crown Vic, 2013 5.0, 2015 5.0 2003 Expedition and ALL will see 3-4 degrees above ambient @ 55+ and 8-14 @ 30.
