So I just saw the "new" recall on the F150s for the 6R80 transmissions. Yuck. Doesn't apply to our cars but ... maybe it should. Anyway ... after searching the web I found that there are some who recommend changing the fluid & filter at 30K miles and then every 60K miles instead of at the Ford...
This morning while I was driving the car the lights on the Speedometer & Tach turned off for about 10 minutes. No idea why. Nothing else in the car stopped working and all the displays were on. The lights just shut off and then magically turned back on by themselves. Has anyone seen this problem...
I got a "TPMS Fault" a few weeks ago. It pops up a message at start up now and illuminates the TPMS idiot light on the Tach. I took the car to the Dealer to get it resolved but I didn't get very far. The claim is that all 4 TPMS Sensors died at EXACTLY the same time and that's why the Fault...
So there's a class action suit against Ford for the smaller Ecoboost engines but it doesn't seem to include the 2.3L. No idea why. The law suit is claiming that Ford knew the cooling design between the cylinders and the head gaskets would fail but sold cars containing them anyway. Sometime in...
I finally had to adjust the Passenger side Rear Window on my car. Until recently I was able to get the window to raise completely as long as the Engine was running but that stopped working. The Window would get ALMOST closed but not enough. I had to open the door, grab the front edge of the...
I had an EXTREMELY annoying rattle from the area of the Driver's A-Pillar. I spent several months trying to find it. I had to replace the Evaporator after the noise started which required removing the Dash. I went over the entire Dash VERY carefully but was unable to find anything loose or any...
So I had to replace my Deck Lid Trim Panel. The plastic panel that sits between the tail lights. The panel is a multipiece assembly of plastic parts glued together. I'm surprised it stayed together as long as it did. I didn't find much on the web for replacement parts except used so I went to...
I've seen a few YouTube videos recommending replacing the Drier when making repairs to the AC System because of leaks. I've also read a few web articles that make the same recommendation. Whenever the AC system leaks and is exposed to atmosphere the Drier should be replaced before flushing...
Does anyone know if the aftermarket Evaporator Cores all come with insulation like the OEM Core? The webpage images I've seen of these cores don't show insulation. Or do I have to figure out where to find insulation material and install my own?
Also, do the cores come with the temp sensor. The...
The Evaporator Core TSB lists 2 O-Rings for the A/C lines. The TSB doesn't indicate where these O-Rings are located. Are they attached to the AC lines under the hood that fit into the TXV? Or are they attached to the AC lines on the Evaporator side where they fit into the TXV?
Thanks.
Now that I have my Evaporator Core out of the Climate Control Housing I'd like to know if the replacement cores contain the TXV. Do the new cores come with the TXV or do I need to transfer my existing TXV to the new core? Or should I just bite the bullet and replace the TXV while I'm at it?
It appears that the Heater Core is available as a separate aftermarket component from several vendors. But after removing the Evaporator Core it's not obvious that the Heater Core can be separated from the Climate Control Housing. Has anyone replaced their Heater Core? Is it possible to...
So I'm now well on my way to replacing my Evaporator Core. Yuck! But I need to select a replacement core. The Ford cores seem to be a poor choice based on their longevity. I was going to find an aftermarket core with a limited lifetime warranty hoping it would be a better choice. The NAPA core...
How do you separate the Heater Core hoses? They seem to be some type of quick connect system but it's not obvious how to separate them. The Service Manual doesn't indicate how to separate them, just to separate them.
Thanks.
So I'm trying to remove the upper steering column on my 'stang but I'm stuck. I have it ready to come out but there's a 2-pin electrical connector at the rear of the adjustable steering column assembly that I can't figure out. See image below. There must be a latch on it somewhere but there...
The Evaporator in my '15 Ecoboob finally started leaking. I'll have to have it replaced. Since I'm the 3rd owner of the car I have no idea how many times it may have been replaced in the past.
It appears that Ford has either changed the design or changed the suppliers for the OEM part but it's...
The 3rd Friday afternoon/evening of every month there is a "Cruise" night at the Court House Square in the center of town. Inverness is in North Central Florida ~20 miles west of I-75 at the northern end of the Florida Turnpike (Wildwood, FL).

So I removed the trim panel above the radiator, etc and the nose to see if I can modify the Grille Shutter Motor operation and I discovered I have no Grille Shutters. 🤔 What I have instead is a rubber flap that is "mounted" horizontally between the back of the "bumper" and the AC condenser. See...
I just used the Meguiar's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner on my wheels. Very pleased with it. I have the twin spoke 18" painted wheels with the coated polished aluminum spoke surfaces. They're a pain to clean with only soap & water and a brush. The inner barrels had a good deal of brake dust build up so...
While investigating the top well drains I discovered a "floating" ground terminal in the trunk behind the lining on the passenger side. It's just below the radio antenna. I fastened it down where I think it belongs but there are some issues. The "bolt hole" where I mounted the terminal isn't...
