Does anyone know if the aftermarket Evaporator Cores all come with insulation like the OEM Core? The webpage images I've seen of these cores don't show insulation. Or do I have to figure out where to find insulation material and install my own?

Also, do the cores come with the temp sensor. The images I've seen from webpages don't show the temp sensor. It's not obvious that I can transfer the temp sensor from my old core to the new one.

Thanks.

aftermarket cores probably won't come with anything aside from the bare core. The Ford OEM parts do come with the foam and TVX. The temp sensor is retained to use on the new core.
If you do a search for Technical Service Bulletin 18-2256, it contains a lot of good information on the core replacement.

Thx. I have the TSB and have been working through it but it leaves out some important things. Like where the O-Rings called out in the parts list are used. Evaporator side or engine bay side of the TXV.

I was able to separate the temp sensor from my old Evaporator core. See below. It just pushes into the fins in the core. I guess I can transfer it but I'd REALLY like to replace it. I don't see it listed as a separate part in the Ford web pages or any local auto parts stores web pages. Or any on-line parts stores either. D@#$!

I'll have to be VERY careful pressing it into the new core. If I mess it up I can VERY easily damage the core and cause my own leak.

The aftermarket Evaporator I purchased from Rock Auto did come with insulation over the top of the core, the tubes leading to the TXV, and minimal insulation along the sides. See images below.
