So I'm now well on my way to replacing my Evaporator Core. Yuck! But I need to select a replacement core. The Ford cores seem to be a poor choice based on their longevity. I was going to find an aftermarket core with a limited lifetime warranty hoping it would be a better choice. The NAPA core is where I thought I'd end up. But I found the same core on Rock Auto so I reviewed the other cores from Rock Auto. They offer 2 with corrosion coatings. One is identified as a Hydrophilic coating. It only has a 1 year warranty but if it really prevents moisture "puddling" on the core it might be the better option. The other Rock Auto core with a corrosion coating doesn't specify what the coating is. And it also only has a 1 year warranty.
Has anyone installed a core with this Hydrophilic coating? Do they last any longer than the other aftermarket cores? I really DON'T want to tear the dash out of the car again. Its WAY too much work.
Any recommendations from a core that has lasted longer than 5 years in Florida appreciated.
Thanks.
