Now that I have my Evaporator Core out of the Climate Control Housing I'd like to know if the replacement cores contain the TXV. Do the new cores come with the TXV or do I need to transfer my existing TXV to the new core? Or should I just bite the bullet and replace the TXV while I'm at it?

When I changed the evaporator core on my 2016 a few years ago, I used the Ford OEM evaporator. It came with a new TVX valve and all of the foam that's attached to the evaporator. Aftermarket evaporators might not have these items...

Since I needed the O-Rings to transfer the TXV to the new Evaporator core I purchased a new Motorcraft TXV and installed it. It took some effort to bend the Evaporator tubes to fit into the TXV and then fit the Evaporator into the Climate Control Housing and fit the sections of the Housing back together again.

After I got the Climate Control Housing together I did a fit check with it in the car to make sure that the AC lines on the Engine Bay side of the TXV would fit. I had to do some more tube bending on the Evaporator lines to get things to fit correctly before mounting the Climate Control Housing into the car permanently (I hope).

Before re-installing the Dash and the rest of the interior parts I got a loaner AC Manifold Gauge Set & Vacuum Pump at the local auto parts store and confirmed that the AC system would hold vacuum. I only evacuated the system for an hour and then closed the Manifold Valves and shut off the vacuum pump. Then I let the system sit for an hour to make sure it held vacuum.
