I've always been annoyed that UK and EU Mustangs don't get the aux gauges despite all being PP spec. In the EU and other LHD markets this isn't too much of a problem to rectify. Just import the gauges and a bezel, fit them and off you go. In the UK this is impossible because Ford never made the bezel in a RHD version.
I needed to right this wrong but how? Well, I have access to 3D scanners as well as 3D printers. I'm also OK at CAD. Let's start.
First up, let's scan the PP gauges:
I used a Revopoint MetroY Ultra for this as it's the most accurate scanner I have. Scanned in laser mode.
In to Fusion and I built up a model of the gauges using the scan as a reference.
Now on to the bezel:
In to Quicksurface to build the complex shapes, then in to Fusion to make a modification to allow the fitment of the gauges. This needed the outer vents to be moved apart 10mm and mounting lugs etc to be made up to accept the gauges.
Cool. My 3D printer can't print something over 1M wide so I needed to split it up in to smaller pieces. Printed in ABS so it doesn't warp in the heat.
A quick test fit:

Sanding and filing it smooth:
I then wrapped it in alcantara:
Quick test fit:
Then I took a saw to the dash to make space for the new gauges. Also fitted the wiring by taping in to the APIM behind the NAV screen as per the thread on here.
Fitted and working:
I also wrapped the rest of the silver trim in alcantara to match:
MyColour works and the vacuum gauge works. The oil pressure does not because Ford decided to fit just an oil pressure switch to UK cars rather than the transducer that is fitted to US cars. I will rectify this shortly.
