Dang it! I wish I would have known
Oh, they know exactly what the deficiencies are and how much more better lug nuts would cost... and they don't care!Over 40 years and the OEMs still haven't learned.
LoL, sure - what naive take. They're not in the business of making best lugnuts, they're in the business of making money so they install cheapest acceptable (to them) product. And it works, people replacing them pay out of their own pockets and Ford increased their margins.Over 40 years and the OEMs still haven't learned.
You have to try and see the big picture here. Only us car forum nerds read and post in threads about issues like this. The other 99% of the world either doesn't know, doesn't care, or doesn't even know where their lug nuts are...It isn't a matter of being naive. When they sit there and wonder why customers move on to the offerings of other companies, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Yep got them since they came fastestFor what it’s worth I have a set of those lug nuts from American Muscle and they’ve been great for a couple years. Mine are chromed. Also no problems with AM in general and their open box deals are occasionally fantastic. My 18 manifold was a 60 dollar open box deal and is perfectly fine, my axle back was 50 bucks and has a tiny scratch on one tip that you can’t even see on the car.
