Looking for a little advice. I have a '22 Mach 1 where I think I got a little (a lot) of wax on the matte portion of the hood decal. I took it to a detailer about 6 months ago and they made it look OK. I'm thinking of selling it to a dealer this weekend and would like to know what I can try to apply to help it look better.

You may have to replace it.

Unfortunately I don’t think there’s much you can do except replace it. Or leave it and the dealer will replace it (and likely ding you the cost on what they give you for the car). Either way, you’re going to be out the cost of the hood stripe.

I would try some WD-40. I have done it on my truck that has some satin black vinyl strips. Cant hurt it unless you scrub the heck out of it. Just don't get it under the edges because it will soften the glue

This is what i have been using. It washes off after a few rains, but looks great.

I'd caution that. Tarminator is a solvent capable of removing adhesive.

Yes, but it won't lift the edges in the time it takes to see if it works on the problem. It can be followed up with diluted dish soap and then followed by detailer.
