Some nice weekend weather finally coincided with having some car time, so the wheels are finally prepped for fitment.

In fact the weather was that nice, it was to hot to work outside so I conceded to what I thought I was going to have to do anyway, and bring when in the house to do the work … lol (we’ve have 5c and ice warnings in the mornings for the last few weeks, and the last few days we have 30c).

Lead weights, cleaned, coated, and weighed :

Too bad I can't see the attachments.
Those look like nice light weight wheels.

It's been quite a while since I got on it, so I headed to a vacant flat farm country road and did a couple hard pulls from a roll. I love the way the front end pops up on the shifts when you're hammering it. It seems like as fast as you can get in third and look down your pushing 90.

Anyway, got home and gave it a bath.

After the debacle I had from last year, I finally reinstalled the splash shield and lip spoiler to the underside of the car. The splash shield is broken and scraped from lowering so a future project is to acquire a new one and replace the front splitter and lip spoiler all at once. Currently it's secured with a mix of OEM screws and some zip ties. I don't go very fast anywhere so I figure it'll be okay for a while.

I just modified my 2015 engine cover so it will fit on my 2018 intake manifold. I had bought a 2018 engine cover and after I made a purge valve mounting bracket The cover no longer fits. So, back to the 2015 cover. If I go without a cover, I have to see those ugly heater hoses and that just is not an option for me. I took the 2015 engine cover and did surgery on it. See pics. I still need to paint the coil covers and the modified engine covers (black with red accents). Anyone that has installed a 2018 intake on a 2015 - 2017 GT knows that the OEM engine cover will not fit on a 2018 intake. I have seen posts about this and my solution to the problem was a 2018 cover. All well and good until I made a solid mount for the purge valve that was just laying lose. There is only one place to put that valve. After mounting it the 2018 cover no longer fits. Shame too I did a lot of work to make that happen. Clean up the edges and paint are all that's left and will be done. I will post finished pics later
