I don't remember paying over $6 in the past, ever. Yea, I know about inflation blah blah

Looking back, I paid $5.35 for premium back in November 2022

And then I remember it being $4+ in 2008/2009 (?), but I didn't have a car that needed anything other than regular back then. I do remember it costing $20-25 to fill up a bike, though.

I want to say the day 9/11 happened I paid close to $4/gallon to fill up on the way home from work. That's $7.47 in today's money.

As of last Sunday morning when I went to top off the G70, which is what I do every Sunday morning right before food shopping,...Mobil 93 octane, $5.20 a gallon.

It used to cost me between 30-35 dollars at half a tank,. Now, it is over 45 bucks at the same level.

My personal stash of 93, mixed daily every morning after my workout and protein shake, is free for the masses.

fwiw I track my gas each fillup in a gas app.
highest I have ever paid was $5.27/gal on 6/18/2022. last fillup I paid $4.89 on 5/2/2026.

this is in my colorado daily that I buy the cheapest shit I can find. it doesn't care what I feed it.
so we are not at a peak yet in vegas but very close.

I do agree tho that this is our gov't driven not outside influences and for a leadership that said I'll lower prices, they are almost as high and no one to blame this on now but themselves.....

Well, back on topic.....
Shell premium was $4.99 a gallon on Monday.
When it hits over $5 I'll switch to mid grade.
And then to regular when that goes over $5.
And when regular goes over $5 I'll just park it.
Because FUCK this shit.
Oh man, don’t punish that beautiful Mach by making it take mid grade and regular 🤭

$4.89 for 93 octane here in my area of Gwinnett county Georgia. I run a flex tune so I "cut" it every fill up alternating between both 93 and e85 which is $3.70 now.

Just checked GasBuddy and it's $4.54 around here, but our Governor suspended the state gas tax for now.

I’m curious for those that may also own EV’s, what does your electric bill look like relative to gas prices. In general, my electric bills (no EV in my garage) have almost doubled from just a couple of years ago. We have a large data center in the area with several others being proposed, the timing of it coming online correlates to my electric bill spike. I know there are several other massive data center projects being talked about or being built. My assumption is that electricity is not or will not be a cheaper alternative, but am curious what EV owners see. I’m not considering an EV personally, but I am curious if the electricity is cheaper than gas argument holds water anymore. Even with gas prices so high.

And no, I’m not trying to start a political argument around EV’s. I’m interested in the “cost at the pump” comparison.
