Sure thing Lorne, Wingnutt knows how a "Procharger" sounds under the hood.
(Bad Ass sound in my book), but as my car is not so equipped with said Atmospheric
Enhancement unit I know that something was amiss. Last spring my GT-350 would occasionally
make the noise when first started, when I would press in the clutch the noise would go away.
Later in the summer it stopped making the noise. Back of my mind I'm thinking pilot bearing, throw out bearing or transmission ?
So when I cranked it up this spring after the oil & filter change it was louder than ever,
stopped by the dealership and setup appointment for the Shelby mechanic Chris to check
it out.
He called me a few days later and said the noise was definitely coming from the bellhousing
and he had to pull the transmission. Chris called me this morning and asked if I could stop
by, as he said it would be better to explain in person. Just told me not to be shocked as my
car is apart, and don't worry because everything is covered under my Ford premium
extended warranty.
So long story short, the pilot bearing failed and its not like the "Old" days where its in the
end of the crank, now its an integral part of the flywheel, so new flywheel.
When he got the transmission out he spun the input shaft and didn't like how it felt so
he drained the transmission fluid, got his next surprise as the fluid matches the color
of the car. Ruby Red Metallic, which necessitated opening that up.
Don't know if they can flush the trans cooler & lines or replace. Replace or rebuild the
transmission ?
🤷‍♂️ 🤔 :fingerscrossed:

Swapped the Mishimoto tank for the Shelby tank. Installed the Shelby radiator cover, radiator support brackets, and custom coil covers.

Sorry to hear that Ray; bad timing with the driving season about to open, but it sounds like you have a good dealership and mechanic taking care of you.
I also had what appeared to be a "procharger whine" when accelerating a few years ago which turned out to be the AC condenser.
My Premium warranty expires in 2027, but I found a potential source that is willing to extend it for me. I'm at the age now where I found a car I love and am not interested in upgrading to anything new just to keep a factory warranty. The S650 line of Shelby's just don't appeal to me. I'm hoping to keep mine for a long time and deal with whatever comes my way in regards to repairs.
Keep us posted on the progress....

looks great! That is quite a list of "who's who" of former cars that you've owned. Hope to see you out and about sometime this summer in Wisconsin. Would love to meet up sometime and check out your PBR *Performance Blue R, not Pabst Blue Ribbon.. LOL

I must be really out of touch with clutch workings, as I saw nothing the pics that seemed awry. Glad someone asked and you replied. Cars have gotten a bit sophisticated beyond my 1968 Torino days. :like:

And the clutch diameter is smaller than I thought, I know that there’s 2 but they’re small

Ray, Think of it in terms of a motorcycle. High levels of horsepower for the engine size. To package and keep it small in diameter, they use multiple plates. Cars and trucks just normally have the luxury of space to go big diameter.

Don’t post much… but finally after some time got my GT350 back! Replaced the OEM stripes with new OEM stripes from the hood forward, stage one paint correction, Modesta BC-04 ceramic on the paint, Modesta BC-06 on the wheels, and Modesta ECG on the windows/windshield, PPF on the whole front end, and added GT350 heritage stripes on the rocker panels.

Gotta give major props to TLC Detailing in Sterling, VA. Dave is awesome to work with.

And like any good mistress… she decided to have a stuck open thermostat on the way home.. I suspect cause she knows I was looking at GT500’s while she was getting all dressed up 😂

Got my Ukie carbon parts installed + Aforceauto boots.

The center console is almost finished, just the shift knob gets replaced with a red one and i'm still missing the top cover of the handbrake.

Slowly but surly the interior matches the quality of the car itself(:

Finally got her off the lift, washed up and ready to start the season. Local club taking a trip to Lancaster to Barry's Car Barn. Pics to follow.

TLDR: GT350 helped me retain sanity and get back to normal 🐍

Completed my cross-country trip in the 15ft U-Haul box truck (a certified heap - had to call uhaul about several lights and then a misfire that popped up right as I got to Sacramento). No tickets or other issues, all items non-broken, etc.

The the following issues crept up on the return:

1. Lost my daily driver keys in Sacramento and had to go searching when I should have been sleeping
2. Dead daily driver battery in airport parking lot upon arrival home (new battery required, broken positive post, wouldn't take or keep a charge)
3. PULLED OVER for 57 in a 35 only .2 miles from my home 🤬 they got me fair and square though, doing a school to keep points away. This was in my daily non-distinct older Honda. I won't draw any conclusions but I'll leave you all with this:

About 2y ago, I was pulled over in the Shelby in the SAME LOCATION for the SAME SPEED - 57 in a 35 (allegedly). Got a warning due to "another call coming in" and then a pause, step back to look at the car, and then "but this is a sick car man" (paraphrasing).

Safe to say driving it to work and then around town after yesterday was very therapeutic.
